Immediately after winning the Bronze Medal, Huy Hoang said in an interview with the media: "Although today's achievement is not as good as at the 18th ASIAD, winning a medal at this Games is a great joy and happiness for me. In the men's 1500m freestyle final 2 days ago, due to psychological pressure and not being strong enough in the long distance, I missed the opportunity to win a medal, but in today's final, I did it. The Gold Medal winner in this event was Kim Woo Min (Korea) with a time of 7 minutes 46.03 seconds - breaking the Games record. The Silver Medal was won by Chinese athlete Fei Liwei with a time of 7 minutes 49.90 seconds.
