NDTV. Kuwait's Emir Sheikh Meshal al-Ahmad al-Sabah has appointed former Prime Minister Sheikh Sabah Khaled al-Hamad al-Sabah as the new Crown Prince.

REUTERS. The Iranian Foreign Ministry summoned the Chinese ambassador to protest the joint declaration between Beijing and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) regarding the Gulf islands of Abu Musa, Greater Tunb, and Lesser Tunb.
Xinhua News Agency. Chinese Commerce Minister Wang Wentao affirmed that Beijing is ready to engage in dialogue to resolve trade conflicts with the EU and will take all necessary measures to protect the legitimate interests of Chinese companies.
REUTERS. The Chinese Foreign Ministry announced that Beijing and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) have emphasized their readiness to exchange experiences on defense and security, aiming to enhance the capabilities of military personnel and security organizations in both countries.
YONHAP. South Korea, the United States, and Japan have agreed to conduct trilateral exercises this summer as the three countries strengthen security cooperation to counter threats from North Korea.
FIRSTPOST. Speaking at the Shangri-La Dialogue in Singapore, Philippine President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. said Manila would pursue "stronger cooperation with friends, such as India, in collaborative efforts to build pillars supporting the regional stability structure."
THE JAKARTA POST. Indonesia is expected to spend around 83 trillion rupiah (US$5.11 billion) by 2025, nearly 10% more than this year, to keep electricity prices stable for consumers.

ABC NEWS. Fikile Mbalula, Secretary-General of the African National Congress (ANC) in South Africa, said the ANC will hold talks with other political parties to form a new governing coalition in the country after the elections.
