The 2024 high school graduation exam is basically stable.

Today, September 20, speaking at the conference summarizing the 2023 high school graduation exam and the direction and tasks of the 2024 exam, Mr. Huynh Van Chuong, Director of the Department of Quality Management (Ministry of Education and Training), said: "The 2024 high school graduation exam will be kept stable as in the 2020-2023 period in terms of organization and exam model".

Director of the Department of Quality Management Huynh Van Chuong affirmed that the 2024 high school graduation exam will remain stable as in the 2020 - 2023 period.

However, the 2024 exam will have some technical adjustments to overcome the limitations and shortcomings of the 2023 high school graduation exam.

Mr. Huynh Van Chuong also affirmed that the Ministry of Education and Training will soon issue guidance documents and provide training for officials participating in the 2024 exam stages, possibly earlier than in 2023, so that localities have more time to prepare.

At the conference, representatives of some localities also proposed that the ministry should keep the 2024 high school graduation exam time in the last week of June as in 2023, which will be convenient for localities to arrange the time to organize the entrance exam for grade 10, admission at the beginning of the school year...

Looking back at the 2023 exam, the Ministry of Education and Training assessed: the exam preparation, invigilation, and grading were carried out seriously, safely, in accordance with regulations and instructions. According to statistics, the national high school graduation rate in 2023 was 98.88%.

Director Huynh Van Chuong added that through analysis of the score distribution, the statistics of the 2023 exam basically remained unchanged compared to 2022. The exam questions closely followed the knowledge and skills standards, with appropriate differentiation. The exam results objectively reflected the learning outcomes of candidates and the quality of teaching in localities by region.

The score distribution this year and the previous two years is relatively stable. This shows that the Ministry of Education and Training's exam questions are quite certain, creating stability for society, students, parents as well as university admissions.

"The exam results show that the exam is stable and has gradually improved to become better. This is the most reliable exam at the present time for universities to confidently use the results for admission," said Mr. Chuong.

The 2023 high school graduation exam will consist of 5 exams: 3 independent exams: math, literature, foreign language; 1 combined natural science exam including physics, chemistry, biology; 1 combined social science exam including history, geography, civiceducation for candidates studying the general high school education program or history and geography for candidates studying the continuing high school education program.
