Big loving family

The Senior Club was established in 2005, when the mass arts movement in Ca Mau was on the rise. At that time, the club had only 8 members - people in their twilight years who started a passionate journey together. Having gone through many ups and downs in life, they were still filled with the desire to stand under the stage lights, sing, dance, and live fully with their passion for art.

In the early days, the club encountered many difficulties, from lack of staff, limited funding, and simple facilities, but with solidarity and perseverance, they built a lasting, loving and close-knit group. The performances were performed in a joyful and warm atmosphere at the 20th anniversary celebration.

Up to now, after 2 decades, the number of members has increased to more than 20 people, most of them are in their 60s, 70s, some are even in their 80s. Their hair has faded from the wind and rain, their steps are no longer agile, their voices have been marked by time, but their passion for art and spirit of joy for life are still intact in each person.

Ms. Pham Thuy Hang, Head of the Senior Club, shared: “The mission of the Club is to be a place for uncles and aunts to spread the joy of life, live healthy, live usefully, set an example and educate their children and grandchildren. If grandparents are exemplary, their children and grandchildren will be kind and gentle, thereby contributing to the formation of a kind and good lifestyle. In the coming time, the Club will continue to maintain regular practice, find new works to enrich the art program, and at the same time expand exchanges with other units.”

Senior Club members performed a group dance at the 20th anniversary celebration.

Over the past 20 years, the Senior Club has been a bright spot in the cultural and artistic movement of the Provincial Cultural Center. Members not only maintain regular activities but also actively practice and create performance programs to serve people in many localities.

Every year, the Club performs dozens of performances at wards, communes, cultural and political events of the province. The performances of singing, dancing, music, traditional music, folk dance, health care... are always carefully prepared, demonstrating a sense of responsibility and precious enthusiasm. Each time it appears, the Club brings the audience moments of relaxation, spreading the spirit of positive living and love of life.

Ms. Ta Bich Van, a member of the Senior Club, shared: "Throughout my time participating in the activities, I have found that each practice and performance creates a joyful atmosphere, helping everyone to improve their health and add useful life energy to society."

20 years - a memorable journey

Not only an art playground, the Senior Club is also a place to foster family relationships, a warm home for those who have passed more than half of their lives. There, they find joy, sharing, and together overcome the loneliness of old age.

"20 years accompanying the development of the Club, for me, is a journey full of beautiful memories. There are happy times, there are sad times, but the most valuable thing is to live fully with passion, to devote myself to the community", Ms. Pham Thuy Hang, Head of the Senior Club shared.

To have such a memorable journey, we cannot fail to mention the support of the Provincial Cultural Center - which always creates all conditions in terms of facilities, meeting places and professional support for the Club. That concern has helped maintain the vibrant cultural movement, contributing to enriching the spiritual life of the people.

Mr. Duong Hoang Giang, Director of the Provincial Cultural Center, commented: “The Senior Club is one of the most effective and regular clubs. Members participate very actively, enthusiastically, and always bring a spirit of dedication to cultural and exchange activities.”

Director of Ca Mau Provincial Cultural Center, Mr. Duong Hoang Giang, presented a souvenir flag to congratulate the Club members.

After all these years, the Senior Club is still bustling with singing and radiant with smiles. In every practice session and every performance, the girls always sing with all their hearts, with love for life. In their old age, the flame of passion is still burning, warming people's hearts.

The 20th anniversary of the Senior Club is not only an opportunity to look back on the past but also a thank you to those who have silently contributed to the Club. And that is an affirmation: the Club will continue to develop, becoming a shining example for the mass art movement of the province, where " old age, high ambition ", where hearts are still full of enthusiasm for people and life./.
