The working delegation inspected 1 station and the headquarters of Tan Loc Commune Health Station, assessed the situation of facilities and medical equipment, and listened to the thoughts and recommendations of the medical staff working at the grassroots level.

Chairman of the Provincial People's Council Pham Van Thieu, Head of the working delegation, directly listened to the thoughts, feelings, recommendations and proposals of the medical staff working at the grassroots level of Tan Loc commune.

Reporting at the meeting, the leader of Tan Loc Commune Health Station said that there are currently 2 stations and 1 headquarters with 18 staff. The unit is facing difficulties in facilities at all 3 operating locations; many medical equipments are degraded and damaged; there is a lack of positions for doctors, midwives and specialized human resources. The locality recommends that the province pay attention to support and invest in order to improve the efficiency of grassroots health care activities.

Through the on-site inspection, comrade Pham Van Thieu, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council, acknowledged the efforts of the locality and the team of doctors and medical staff at the grassroots level in taking care of people's health.

He emphasized that grassroots health stations are the core and frontline in protecting and providing primary health care for the people. Improving the quality of operations, consolidating facilities, equipment and human resources is an extremely urgent task.

Chairman of the Provincial People's Council Pham Van Thieu emphasized: "The grassroots health stations must truly strengthen the people's trust and gradually be invested in modernity to meet the people's needs for medical examination and treatment."

Chairwoman of Tan Loc Commune People's Committee Dinh Thi Mung reported the contents at the working session with the inspection team.

He affirmed that, along with the deployment of the two-level local government model and the implementation of Resolution 72 of the Politburo , Ca Mau province will focus on prioritizing resources to gradually improve and modernize the grassroots health station system, in order to improve medical examination and treatment capacity and strengthen people's trust.

This afternoon, the working delegation led by comrade Pham Van Thieu continued to inspect the activities of the grassroots health station in Dat Mui commune.
