
On the afternoon of October 28, Nguyen Van Quyet, Standing Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Kien Hai Commune (Hai Phong), informed: During the process of the commune coordinating with the Hai Phong Forest Protection Department to organize an inter-sectoral patrol and inspection on the morning of October 27, at the Hoi Xuan intersection (village 6, Kien Hai Commune), the working group discovered a subject illegally selling wild birds.
When seeing the authorities, the subject ran away, leaving behind 3 net bags containing 29 wild birds, including: 9 egrets, 9 storks, 6 red storks, 3 white storks, 1 heron and 1 woodpecker.
After inspection, the working group determined that all birds were healthy and released all 29 individuals into the natural environment at Ong Temple area (Nam Hai village, Kien Hai commune), ensuring safety and suitability to the species' habitat.
The patrol and release of wild birds demonstrates the proactive and responsible spirit of Kien Hai commune in protecting natural resources and biodiversity.
Implementing the direction of the City People's Committee on strengthening the management and protection of wild animals, wild birds and migratory birds, Kien Hai commune calls on people not to hunt, buy, sell, keep, or consume wild animals and migratory birds illegally. Proactively notify the authorities or forest rangers when detecting violations.
