Yen Lap Forest Protection Department coordinated with Yen Lap Commune Police to confiscate tools for trapping wild birds and migratory birds in Can field, Yen Lap commune.
According to records in some communes, the places that people choose to set bird traps are often along lakes, swamps, streams, harvested rice fields, with large, dense bushes or shallow puddles. Here, they stick fake storks made of foam and stick bamboo sticks covered with glue everywhere, from the middle of the field, along the banks to the bushes. In some places, people also use technological devices that make noise to trap wild birds. This leads to a decrease in the number of wild birds, affecting the balance of the diverse ecosystem.
To strengthen the management and protection of wild birds and migratory birds from the beginning of the year, Yen Lap Forest Protection Department advised the People's Committees of communes to issue documents on strengthening the management, protection and conservation of wild birds and migratory birds; perfecting the commune-level working group; core members are forest rangers, police, and relevant departments to inspect, handle, and dismantle all kinds of nets and traps.
Strengthen inspections in key areas of hunting and trapping migratory and wild birds to promptly detect, handle and prevent violations of the law on management, purchase, sale, transportation, processing, trading and illegal use of animals, especially trapping, transporting and trading wild and migratory birds; collecting illegal bird-catching tools and nets...
In addition, Yen Lap Forest Protection Department coordinated with communes in the area to promote propaganda on the loudspeaker system about trapping wild birds and migratory birds. The content of propaganda and dissemination of some relevant legal documents. At the same time, advising the People's Committees of communes to organize restaurants and eateries that use food from wild birds to sign a commitment not to hunt, trap, buy, sell, trade, or transport migratory birds, wild birds, and wild animals illegally.
Release wild birds and migratory birds into the natural environment.
Comrade Nguyen Van Son, Head of Yen Lap Forest Protection Department, said: Although the authorities and communes have taken drastic measures, the situation of trapping wild birds and migratory birds still happens secretly. To avoid inspection and control by the authorities, the subjects change the time and location of activities continuously, making it difficult to capture and handle.
In addition, the area is large and the sanctions are not enough to deter violators. Most importantly, people themselves must be aware that their actions are prohibited and contrary to the provisions of the law, so that they can voluntarily give up hunting, trading and consuming wild birds and migratory birds, contributing to protecting the ecological environment and biodiversity.
Currently, starting at the time when migratory birds and wild birds return to their homes, Yen Lap Forest Protection Department has organized forces to coordinate with functional agencies and People's Committees of communes to increase patrols, inspections, and control of key areas for hunting, trading, and consuming wild birds and migratory birds.
Strengthen propaganda work to the general public not to hunt wild birds, proactively report violators, contribute to the conservation of wild birds and migratory birds, and create a clean and complete living environment.
