However, in August alone, Lam Dong's goods exports continued to show positive growth with an estimated turnover of approximately 300 million USD, an increase of 8.2% over the previous month.
Notably, the industry and trade sector also recorded that in the past 8 months, many of the province's main export items increased compared to the same period, specifically, alumina and aluminum hydroxide increased by nearly 30% with an estimated turnover of 438.4 million USD. Meanwhile, coffee beans increased by 11.22% (export turnover estimated at 402.5 million USD), garments and textile materials increased by nearly 5% (estimated at 266.7 million USD), cashew nuts increased by more than 15% (reaching about 158.7 million USD)...
To maintain stable export activities in the province, the Department of Industry and Trade has also requested relevant departments, branches, localities and industry associations to coordinate in providing information on business operations, production and export in the context of the US applying a 20% reciprocal tax rate. At the same time, it has proposed and recommended to relevant agencies to resolve difficulties and obstacles and meet the requirements of production, business and export activities in the coming time.
In addition, the industry also directed specialized departments and affiliated units to support businesses, promote border trade development, and export goods to the Cambodian market. Timely information on the import and export of goods through border gates in Lang Son province, helping local businesses grasp and be proactive in business activities and export goods to the Chinese market. Especially the export of agricultural products and fresh fruits of Lam Dong in accordance with the time when agricultural products and fruits of all kinds are in the harvest season to avoid prolonged congestion at the northern border gate.
In addition, the Department of Industry and Trade also announces trade promotion programs to businesses to register to participate, such as trade delegations to the German and French markets (prioritizing agricultural products, food, consumer goods, handicrafts, textiles, footwear, etc.). Or participating in the trade and investment promotion delegation combined with a survey of the World Expo Osaka 2025 Exhibition, aiming to take advantage of business and import-export opportunities in the Japanese market through trade programs, etc.
In the remaining months of this year, the functional sector will continue to effectively implement import-export plans, trade promotion as well as closely monitor the world market situation. Thereby, supporting the provision of information to businesses and enhancing product promotion, trade connections, contributing to promoting the export of goods to potential markets... Next is the orientation for businesses to make good use of opportunities and advantages from free trade agreements (FTAs) to support the promotion of Lam Dong's goods exports. Especially with the Vietnam - UAE Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) signed by Vietnam in 2024. Thereby, it is hoped to open up opportunities for businesses to penetrate deeper into the Middle East - Africa market as well as access more easily to other major markets in the region such as: Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait and some countries in North Africa, West Asia.
With positive signs and focused export activities in the coming sprint period, the locality expects to complete the target set for the whole year of 2025, reaching a turnover of over 3.23 billion USD, an increase of 14.51% over last year.
