Accordingly, Nam Khe Son Hospital was previously a very special hospital built by the Chinese Government right on Chinese territory, but only accepted wounded and sick soldiers who were Vietnamese officers and soldiers for treatment.

The hospital was started in 1967 and was built from the best materials and equipment in China at that time. The hospital was officially inaugurated, named Nam Khe Son Hospital on October 23, 1968 and welcomed the first batch of Vietnamese wounded and sick soldiers for treatment on March 26, 1969.

Since March 1969, through the Vietnamese contact point, Hospital E, Nanxishan Hospital under the Chinese Ministry of Health has been treating wounded and sick soldiers from South Vietnam and mid- and high-ranking officials from various localities in Vietnam. Therefore, most doctors and nurses who come to work at this hospital take the opportunity to learn Vietnamese to facilitate the process of examining and caring for Vietnamese patients and wounded soldiers.

The doctors and medical staff working at Nam Khe Son Hospital during this period were all people with solid expertise and good political qualities, some of whom were even leading experts in China. At that time, Guilin was a difficult land, with inadequate facilities, but when they learned that they would be treating wounded Vietnamese soldiers, everyone was moved and determined to volunteer.

The hospital also received investment from the Chinese government to build a large hall to screen movies, perform arts and organize other entertainment activities. The hall was even larger than the most advanced Lijiang Theater in Guilin at that time. Books and newspapers were also fully provided. When patients wanted to learn more, interpreters could help translate...

In 1974, the President of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam awarded the First Class Resistance Medal to the collective of cadres, doctors and medical staff of Nam Khe Son Hospital.

After the last batch of Vietnamese wounded and sick soldiers were discharged in December 1975, since 1976, Nanxishan Hospital has been under the management of Guangxi Province. Currently, Nanxishan Hospital belongs to Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. The hospital is making great strides in terms of expertise, has many advanced facilities, and is one of the largest and most prestigious hospitals in Guilin, China.
