Speaking at the Thai Hoa Palace relic site this morning (May 26), Mr. Nguyen Thanh Binh said that the incident not only caused damage to artifacts but also seriously affected the cultural and historical value of the relic. “This is a very regrettable incident, causing serious consequences and needs to be taken seriously to draw profound lessons,” Mr. Binh emphasized.

Immediately after the incident, the Hue City People's Committee reported to the Prime Minister and the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism; at the same time, directed relevant units to review and re-evaluate the entire work of protecting artifacts, including determining the specific responsibilities of related organizations and individuals.
Mr. Binh said that the city has asked the Hue Monuments Conservation Center to coordinate with the Department of Culture and Sports to urgently rebuild plans to protect the monuments, especially artifacts of special value.
“It is necessary to increase the application of technology, monitor security more closely, and improve the capacity and expertise of security forces at relic sites,” said Mr. Binh.

In addition, the work of propaganda and mobilizing the community to participate in protecting heritage was also particularly emphasized by the leaders of Hue City. “Heritage does not only belong to the cultural sector or a specific unit, but is the common property of the entire people. Protecting these values requires the cooperation and consensus of the whole community,” Mr. Binh shared.
