Vietcombank leader appointed as Deputy Inspector General of State Bank of Vietnam

Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Foreign Trade of Vietnam ( Vietcombank - Code: VCB) recently announced the dismissal of Mr. Lai Huu Phuoc from the position of Head of the Board of Supervisors for the 2023 - 2028 term.

The reason given is that Mr. Phuoc was accepted and appointed by the Governor of the State Bank of Vietnam (SBV) to hold the position of Deputy Chief Inspector and Banking Supervisor under the SBV Banking Inspection and Supervision Agency from August 1 for a term of 5 years from the date of appointment.

Head of Vietcombank's Supervisory Board Lai Huu Phuoc was appointed Deputy Chief Inspector of the State Bank of Vietnam from August 1, 2024.

Mr. Lai Huu Phuoc was born in 1967, hometown Thanh Binh, Thanh Liem, Ha Nam, has a Master's degree in Business Administration, Bachelor of Economics from Hanoi University of Finance and Accounting, now the Academy of Finance.

Mr. Phuoc has 31 years of continuous work experience, including 3 years as an accountant at a state-owned enterprise, 15 years at the State Audit Office and 13 years at Vietcombank.

Mr. Phuoc was assigned to be the Head of Vietcombank's Supervisory Board for the 2018-2023 term from November 1, 2020 and will continue to be assigned to hold the position of Head of Vietcombank's Supervisory Board for the 2023-2028 term.

At the same time, Vietcombank also appointed Ms. Tran My Hanh, Member of the Board of Supervisors, to hold the position of Member in charge of the Board of Supervisors for the 2023-2028 term. The appointment term is from 1/8 until another decision is made to replace her.

Ms. Tran My Hanh was born in 1974, has a bachelor's degree in Economics, majoring in Accounting, Hanoi University of Finance and Accounting (now the Academy of Finance), and a postgraduate certificate in applied economics from the Fulbright Economics Teaching Program.

From May 2002 to present, she has worked and held many positions at Vietcombank such as member of the Board of Supervisors, Head of Internal Audit at Vietcombank headquarters...

On July 26, Vietcombank's Board of Directors also appointed Mr. Nguyen Thanh Tung as Chairman of the Board of Directors for the 2023-2028 term. Previously, Mr. Tung was a member of the Board of Directors and General Director of Vietcombank.
