Le Chuc An and Nguyen Viet Gia Han try their hand at Thailand's professional women's arena

TPO - For the first time in their careers, Vietnamese female golfers have the opportunity to compete at the largest professional women's tournament in Thailand.

Trang An Open 2025 takes place from May 15 to 18 at Trang An Golf & Resort, bringing together nearly 200 leading professional golfers from Vietnam and Thailand.

In addition to the men's event on the All Thailand Golf Tour, the tournament also hosts a women's event on the Thai LPGA Tour.

This is the first time that the two largest professional tournaments in Thailand are held in Vietnam. With the participation of many top stars from Thailand and the region, the tournament promises to be highly competitive.

In the men's category, host Vietnam has the participation of bright names such as Nguyen Anh Minh, Pham Minh Duc, and Truong Chi Quan.

In particular, in the women's category with more than 100 golfers competing, Vietnam has 4 representatives including Le Chuc An, Nguyen Viet Gia Han, Nguyen Bao Chau and Vu Thi Van.

Excluding domestic VGA Tour tournaments, this is the first time Vietnamese female golfers have participated in an event in the international women's professional competition system.

Le Chuc An, Vietnam's No. 1 amateur golfer, current champion of the 2024 National Golf Championship, VinFast Cup - Hai Phong, is currently in impressive form in 2025. She passed the cut and finished T30 at the Women's Amateur Asia-Pacific Championship in March.

Meanwhile, Gia Han and Bao Chau are promising young faces. Gia Han is the runner-up of the 2024 National Golf Championship, VinFast Cup - Hai Phong , and Bao Chau is the reigning champion of Tien Phong Golf Championship 2024. Vu Thi Van, born in 1982, is one of Vietnam's veteran professional female golfers.

Female athletes participating in this tournament will have the opportunity to accumulate points on the Women's World Golf Rankings (Rolex Rankings), as the Thai LPGA Tour has officially been ranked since the beginning of 2023.

Despite many challenges, the Thai LPGA Tour is certainly an ideal environment for Vietnamese female golfers to learn, gain experience and compete in the international arena.

Trang An Open has a total prize value of up to 3.5 billion VND, of which 2.1 billion VND is for the men's category and 1.4 billion VND is for the women's category.
