Twinning ceremony between Simacai town (Vietnam) and Seo Pa Chu town (China)

On December 2, in Simacai town, Simacai district, Lao Cai province, the twinning ceremony took place between Simacai town, Simacai district, Lao Cai province (Vietnam) and Seo Pa Chu town, Ma Quan district, Van Son prefecture, Yunnan province (China).

The twinning ceremony aims to strengthen the friendly neighborly relationship between Simacai town, Simacai district, Lao Cai province (Vietnam) and Seo Pa Chu town, Ma Quan district, Van Son prefecture, Yunnan province (China), in accordance with the aspirations of the local Party committees, authorities and people of all ethnic groups in Simacai town and Seo Pa Chu town, thereby continuously fostering and enhancing the solidarity and friendship between the two sides.

Accordingly, the two sides agreed to implement 5 contents in the friendship memorandum, including: Deploying and guiding propaganda content, jointly strengthening the strict implementation of three legal documents on land borders; Expanding cooperation in economic and social development, exchanging experiences, selecting industries, agriculture, science and technology, building beautiful and prosperous rural areas; Expanding cultural and sports exchanges, enhancing exchanges in culture, sports, folk arts, enhancing understanding of friendship; Coordinating border patrols, preventing and combating crimes and preventing natural disasters and epidemics, effectively preventing smuggling, drug trafficking, explosives, flammable substances, human trafficking and illegal activities across the border; Strengthening regular contact, organizing exchanges, summarizing and evaluating the implementation of the twinning agreement between Simacai town and Seo Pa Chu town.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, Comrade Nguyen Trung Kien, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Simacai district, hoped that the people on both sides of the border would always be united and loyal, helping each other develop the economy, preserve and promote the national cultural identity of both sides of the border, together maintain security in the border areas of both sides, strictly abide by the laws of the two countries, and together build a border of peace , friendship, cooperation and sustainable development.

At the ceremony, the Secretary of Si Ma Cai town and the Secretary of Seo Pa Chu town signed the twinning agreement in the presence of the leaders of Si Ma Cai district and the Lao Cai Provincial Border Guard Command.

On this occasion, representatives of the District Party Committee, People's Committee of Si Ma Cai district and the Provincial Border Guard Command presented meaningful gifts and sent their affection to the people on both sides of the border./.
