Le Khanh Hung creates the best result for Vietnamese golf at the Asia-Pacific Amateur Championship

TPO - With a joint 5th place, Le Khanh Hung became the Vietnamese golfer with the best achievement at the Asia-Pacific Amateur Championship.

Le Khanh Hung is the Vietnamese golfer with the best results at the Asia- Pacific Amateur Championship.

The best achievement that Vietnamese golf has ever achieved before is the T7 position of Nguyen Anh Minh at the 2023 Asia- Pacific Amateur Championship (AAC) at Royal Melbourne Golf Club (Australia).

Closing the 4 days of competition at AAC 2025 at Emirates Golf Club (Dubai), Le Khanh Hung excellently finished the tournament with a total score of (-11) and rounds of 66-67-73-71, thereby finishing in T5 position overall. At the age of 17, Khanh Hung is continuing to write extraordinary stories for Vietnamese golf on the continental arena.

“I tried to maintain my focus throughout the tournament, and although I did not achieve the best result, I am proud to have given my all. This achievement will be a great motivation for me to look forward to the upcoming SEA Games,” Khanh Hung shared.

The remaining representative of Vietnam is Nguyen Duc Son, who also left his mark when he returned strongly after his first appearance and missed the cut in 2024. This year, he competed in all 4 rounds and finished in T42 position, showing a commendable step forward.

AAC 2025 ended with a thrilling victory for Fifa Laopakdee (Thailand). After leveling the gap by 6 strokes with Taisei Nagasaki (Japan), both finished at -15 points and had to enter the playoff series.

Laopakdee birdied the third extra hole, officially becoming the first Thai golfer to win the AAC - a proud milestone for golf in Southeast Asia.

This victory helps Fifa Laopakdee win tickets to The Masters and The Open 2025. He will also be a formidable opponent of Vietnamese golfers at the upcoming 33rd SEA Games.
