Vietnamese volleyball team has identified its opponent at the 33rd SEA Games.
These players have also been key members of the Vietnamese men's national team in recent years.
In particular, Ngoc Thuan and Van Duy are in top form, having won the "Best Attacker" and "Best Setter" awards at the recent National Championship.
Two notable returns in this call-up are outside hitter Tran Anh Tu and libero Huynh Trung Truc.
Meanwhile, middle blocker Pham Thanh Tung of The Cong Tan Cang received his first call-up to the national team.
The men's team will begin training on October 25th at Bac Ninh University of Physical Education and Sports. During this period, the coaching staff will focus on improving physical fitness and refining tactics.
According to the plan, coach Tran Dinh Tien will narrow down the list to 14 players before heading to Thailand in early December to participate in the 33rd SEA Games.
The men's volleyball tournament at the 33rd SEA Games features eight participating teams. Group A includes Thailand (hosts), Vietnam, Singapore, and Laos; Group B consists of Indonesia (defending champions), Cambodia, the Philippines, and Myanmar.
The teams compete in a round-robin format within each group, with the top two teams advancing to the semi-finals. This year, the target for the Vietnamese men's team is to reach the final.
At the 32nd SEA Games in 2023 in Cambodia, the Vietnamese men's team won the bronze medal after defeating Thailand 3-1 in the third-place match.
