The ceremony of carrying the tablet of the Three Patriarchs of Truc Lam from Vinh Nghiem Pagoda to Tay Yen Tu

On the morning of February 9 (January 12), within the framework of the activities of the Culture - Tourism Week 2025, the Organizing Committee of the Culture - Tourism Week of Bac Giang province in 2025 held a ceremony to carry the tablet of the Three Patriarchs of Truc Lam from Vinh Nghiem Pagoda (Tri Yen Commune, Bac Giang City) to Tay Yen Tu (Son Dong District).

Attending the procession were Mr. Mai Son - Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; representatives of some provincial departments and branches; leaders of Bac Giang City, Son Dong District, along with a large number of monks, nuns, Buddhists, people from all walks of life and tourists.

The procession of the tablet of the Three Patriarchs of Truc Lam was held from 6:30 a.m. on February 9 (January 12) chaired by the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Executive Committee of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha of Bac Giang province.

The procession consisted of 51 cars, decorated in the form of a Buddhist procession, including: Cars carrying festival flags and Buddhist flags (combined with speakers playing flowing music), cars carrying offerings, cars carrying tablets of the Three Patriarchs of Truc Lam; cars carrying monks, nuns, Buddhists, with the participation of locals and tourists... forming a large procession, spreading the meaning of the event, wishing for a good and prosperous new year.

According to sources, Truc Lam Tam To are the three founders of Truc Lam Zen sect who practiced and attained enlightenment at Vinh Nghiem pagoda. The tablets of the three founders of Truc Lam will be carried from Vinh Nghiem pagoda to Thuong pagoda, Tay Yen Tu.

The procession is meant to promote good ideological values to show gratitude to those who lit up, built and developed Truc Lam Yen Tu Buddhism as well as contribute to restoring and introducing the path of propagating Buddhism of the Buddhas to the masses and tourists from near and far, contributing to the development of tourism and socio-economy in the province.

After completing the procession ceremony at Vinh Nghiem Pagoda, the procession carrying the tablet of the Three Patriarchs of Truc Lam officially departed for Tay Yen Tu. The procession and installation of the tablet took place safely and solemnly according to Buddhist rituals.

The procession is equipped with flags and flowers to represent sacredness and wishes for a good and prosperous new year.

This is one of the important activities in the Culture - Tourism Week and the opening of the Tay Yen Tu Spring Festival in 2025, taking place for 6 days, from February 8 to February 13, 2025 (ie from January 11 to 16, At Ty year).

After the procession, the opening ceremony of the Cultural - Tourism Week and the opening of the Tay Yen Spring Festival will take place at the Tay Yen Tu spiritual - ecological tourist area, Tay Yen Tu town, Son Dong district.
