On social network X, the UAE spokesperson said that, in the face of the increasingly worsening situation in the Gaza Strip, the UAE and China have called for the above-mentioned closed consultations.

On the same day, the UN Palestinian Refugee Agency (UNWRA) said that 88 of its staff had been killed since the outbreak of hostilities on October 7. According to a joint statement by the heads of 18 major UN agencies, this is the highest number of casualties the UN has ever recorded in a conflict. This rare joint statement also expressed outrage at the number of civilian deaths in the Gaza Strip and called for an immediate humanitarian ceasefire, as well as demanding that Hamas release all hostages.

Meanwhile, Indonesian Defense Minister Prabowo Subianto said the Indonesian government is ready to send a naval hospital ship to the waters near the Gaza Strip to enhance medical assistance to the people. According to Mr. Subianto, Indonesia is planning to coordinate with neighboring countries of the Gaza Strip, including Egypt, to get approval to send a hospital ship.
