According to Mr. Ha Anh Duc, recently there have been many worrying incidents related to security and order at a number of medical facilities. Typical cases include assaults on medical staff while on duty at the Emergency Resuscitation Department in Phu Tho and most recently in Nam Dinh. "Regardless of the cause, assaults on medical staff, especially when they are on duty to save lives, are completely unacceptable. When doctors are performing their professional duties, absolute safety must be ensured so that they can complete their work," Mr. Ha Anh Duc emphasized.

The leader of the Department of Medical Examination and Treatment Management also said that the situation of insecurity and disorder in hospitals is not new but has lasted for many years, with the cause coming from both objective and subjective factors. The medical examination and treatment system is under great pressure due to the number of patients. Meanwhile, medical staff is limited; patients want to be cared for quickly and thoroughly, but medical facilities find it difficult to respond immediately. Along with that, some cases of doctors and nurses have not handled communication situations well. Besides professional factors, the issue of hospital fees is also seen as the cause of conflict.
In response to the above situation, Mr. Ha Anh Duc said that the Ministry of Health will report to the Government and advise on the issuance of additional specific policies to strengthen the protection of medical staff. Along with that, hospitals need to regularly train medical staff in behavioral skills, improve patient reception procedures and strengthen coordination with the police force, ensure order in hospitals; promote the role of social work departments to provide financial support to patients in difficulty, reducing the risk of conflict.
