Many iPhone users said their devices kept having errors when opening the camera app after updating to iOS 18.2.

Apple brought iPhone users many new features through iOS 18.2, including Apple Intelligence for iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 16 series models. However, after upgrading to this update, they had to face a series of annoying camera-related errors.

According to posts on social networking platforms Reddit and X, many iPhone users have complained about the camera not working properly after updating to iOS 18.2. Specifically, many users said that the camera app often displays a black screen and has to be restarted many times before it can be used. The flashlight also "misbehaves" when it works slowly or even does not respond.

"Since updating to iOS 18.2, the camera on my iPhone 16 Pro Max has been intermittent. When I open the app, I only see a black screen, and I have to turn it off and on several times to use it. Taking photos with Snapchat is the same, quite inconvenient," CryptographerWeary64 shared on Reddit.

Not only the camera, some iPhone users also said that Face ID is also affected, working slowly or even not recognizing faces. "My Face ID is not working or very slow when paying with Apple Pay," another user shared.

Apple has yet to respond to these bugs. However, the 18.2.1 update has been released, which should hopefully fix the camera-related issues.
