On November 12, Le Minh Xuan Secondary School (Binh Loi Commune) announced that it would not organize receptions, accept flowers or gifts to celebrate the 43rd anniversary of Vietnamese Teachers' Day (November 20, 1982 - November 20, 2025).
According to the school, this action is to implement the policy of practicing thrift and fighting waste.
Thu Duc High School (Thu Duc Ward) also sent a thank you letter, calling on parents and donors to instead of giving congratulatory flowers, convert them into scholarships for students in difficult circumstances or contribute to support people affected by storms and floods.
"The scholarships will be awarded to the students by the school on the 43rd anniversary of Vietnamese Teachers' Day as a gift from the school's teaching staff to encourage and motivate them to overcome difficulties, nurture their dreams and add motivation to study; the school will also donate a portion of the money to share with people in flood-affected areas, demonstrating the educational purpose that the school wants to spread, educating compassion for students," the letter stated.
Phan Van Tri Primary School (Cau Ong Lanh Ward) sent a notice to parents and donors that they would not accept flowers on November 20, but would instead accept books, candy or school supplies for students.
The school said that for many years, on November 20, the school has received many fresh flowers. But flowers will eventually wither. Therefore, instead of receiving flowers, the school hopes to receive gifts of books, school supplies, and candy to encourage and motivate students, and to make the joy of Teachers' Day more meaningful.
On the same day, November 12, the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City also announced that it would not organize receptions, accept flowers and gifts to celebrate the 43rd anniversary of Vietnam Teachers' Day (November 20, 1982 - November 20, 2025). It is known that this policy has also been implemented by the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City for many years.
The Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City also sends its sincere thanks for the attention and good feelings of agencies and units and hopes to continue receiving support for the city's education and training career.
