On the morning of October 1st, in an interview with Dan Tri newspaper, Mr. Nguyen Van Thanh, Principal of Luong Minh Ethnic Boarding Primary School (Minh Tien village, Luong Minh commune, Tuong Duong district), said that 361 students at this school had to stay home from school due to floodwaters inundating the classrooms.
"Last night (September 30th), a flash flood occurred, causing significant flooding at the school. Some classrooms at the lower levels were submerged under 20-60cm of water. This school has 299 out of 361 boarding students, and the floodwaters covered the classrooms in mud, so we decided to suspend classes."

According to Mr. Thanh, the cleaning of the school and classrooms is currently being handled by the authorities, teachers, and villagers.
