Provincial armed forces: Joining hands towards difficult areas

In recent times, the Quang Ninh armed forces have always proactively coordinated with Party committees, authorities, and units, especially in difficult areas and ethnic minority areas, to carry out movements to build cultural life, build new rural areas, and carry out community activities... These meaningful activities have contributed to enhancing the noble qualities of "Uncle Ho's soldiers" in the new era.

At the end of July 2024, units of the provincial armed forces simultaneously organized a field trip with many specific activities to help the Party committees, authorities and people in the areas where the units were stationed. During the field trip, officers and soldiers of the provincial armed forces coordinated with local people to repair more than 19.5 km of inter-village roads; dredged more than 10.5 km of canals and drainage ditches; repaired and cleaned 59 classrooms, cultural houses and 9 cemeteries and memorials... At the same time, they visited and presented gifts to policy families and people with revolutionary contributions with an amount of nearly 280 million VND; examined and provided health consultations to 200 people; presented 7 savings books to policy beneficiaries...

In particular, the emulation movement "The Army joins hands to build the new countryside" associated with the implementation of models and campaigns: "Skilled mass mobilization", "Good mass mobilization unit", "The whole people unite to build the new countryside, civilized urban areas" ... has been widely deployed. From 2019 to now, the provincial military has advised local Party committees and authorities and mobilized and supported the construction of more than 100 gratitude houses, comrade houses, great solidarity houses, 1 cultural house, 2 classrooms, 2 boarding houses; renovating more than 130km of gravel roads, intra-field canals and many other specific and meaningful works and tasks.

The self-defense units under the Provincial Military Command supported over 1.2 billion VND to build roads in Na Tao village, Dong Tam commune (Binh Lieu district); organized meetings and presented gifts to 732 excellent students of the 2023-2024 school year, with a total amount of over 400 million VND. Along with that, the Provincial Military also organized the program "Spring on the border and islands - Tet with warm military-civilian affection", wrapping 3,303 banh chung cakes to give to policy families, poor households, and combat-ready forces on the occasion of the Lunar New Year 2024; organized "Zero-dong stalls", presenting 590 gifts worth over 400 million VND in localities: Mong Cai, Hai Ha, Binh Lieu...

In particular, to celebrate the 70th anniversary of Dien Bien Phu Victory, the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army and the 35th anniversary of the National Defense Day, in 2024, the provincial armed forces coordinated with the provincial staff to support the construction of 200 Great Unity houses, presented 100 gifts to cadres and people of all ethnic groups in Dien Bien province with a total amount of over 10.1 billion VND (the Provincial Military Command supported more than 300 million VND); visited and presented gifts to 411 war veterans who directly participated in the Dien Bien Phu campaign... The Military Commands of districts, towns and cities advised localities to present hundreds of gifts; sponsored and awarded funds to support 50 ethnic minority students with especially difficult circumstances under the program "Helping you go to school"...

In addition, the provincial armed forces also actively participated in the National Great Unity Festival with the theme: "Solidarity Festival - Warm military-civilian affection" at 1,452 residential areas throughout the province. The festival was a great success, of great significance in consolidating and strengthening the solidarity and consensus of the people in the residential community; promoting the close military-civilian relationship, creating a solid foundation for the great national unity bloc. In particular, it aroused the spirit of excitement and emulation among the people in performing tasks, especially participating in the election of village, hamlet and neighborhood chiefs for the 2025-2027 term and emulation movements to welcome the Party Congresses at all levels for the 2025-2030 term.

Military officers and soldiers of the whole province are always present when people encounter difficulties and misfortunes. Storm No. 3 made landfall in early September 2024, causing heavy losses in human lives and property in Quang Ninh. The military forces of the whole province mobilized 70,660 officers and soldiers, 1,580 cars, 110 excavators, 465 ships and boats to participate in search and rescue, support people to overcome the consequences of the storm, helping people to stabilize their lives soon. Ms. Nguyen Thi Dung (Hong Ha ward, Ha Long city) said: After Storm No. 3, houses and trees were destroyed and devastated like in wartime. Together with local forces, military officers and soldiers of the province did not fear danger and rushed to help people overcome the consequences. Whether in wartime or peacetime, they are always worthy of the title "Uncle Ho's soldiers"...

To celebrate the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army and the 35th anniversary of the National Defense Day, the Party Committee and the Provincial Military Command have launched a peak emulation campaign with the theme "Proud of tradition - Continuing the feats - Deserving of Uncle Ho's soldiers". The military units in the province have focused on doing a good job of political and ideological education, building determination for officers and soldiers and competing to excellently complete assigned tasks; actively mobilizing participation in supporting the construction of gratitude houses, comrade houses, great solidarity houses for disadvantaged families, policy beneficiaries, families of military personnel in difficult circumstances... The houses filled with solidarity are being completed one by one thanks to the contributions of both money and effort of the military officers and soldiers in the province, contributing to spreading the beautiful image of "Uncle Ho's soldiers" in the new era.
