In Binh Dinh hamlet, Kha Son commune, thanks to the efforts of the Farmers' Association and support from state funding, a 500m long irrigation canal was completed in June 2025, serving to irrigate approximately 2 hectares of agricultural land.

Despite the construction work coinciding with the rice flowering season, the local people voluntarily donated over 5 acres of rice paddies, contributed labor and materials to expedite the handover of the land. Once the canals were reinforced, irrigation became easier, the water supply became stable, and water loss was eliminated as before.

Ms. Duong Thi Sam, Head of Binh Dinh Hamlet, shared: "Previously, for each rice crop, the hamlet had to mobilize villagers twice to dredge the canals to ensure water flow. Now, thanks to the new canal system, the water supply is stable, and the people are delighted because they will benefit in the long term. The completed project helps people reduce hardship, increase crop yields, create motivation for labor and production, and contribute to making the rural area increasingly prosperous."

Along with essential infrastructure projects, farmers' associations at all levels also focus on mobilizing members to renovate their houses, village roads and alleys, plant trees, collect waste, and build "farmers' flower roads" and "green, clean, and beautiful" models.

Many localities have developed model roads and advanced new rural residential areas, creating a civilized living environment and fostering community cohesion. Movements promoting excellent production and business practices, mutual assistance for wealth creation, and sustainable poverty reduction have also been widely implemented, inspiring the spirit of creative labor and the aspiration for prosperity among farmers in Thai Nguyen .

In response to the "National Unity for Building a Culturally Rich Life" campaign, farmers' associations at all levels are stepping up propaganda and mobilization efforts to encourage members to build culturally rich families, villages, and hamlets, and to promote the implementation of the National Target Program for Building New Rural Areas by 2025. This fosters social consensus and creates a strong ripple effect within the community.

With a spirit of solidarity, responsibility, and aspiration to build a prosperous and beautiful homeland, the "Thai Nguyen Farmers Joining Hands to Build New Rural Areas" movement has spread widely, attracting a large number of members and farmers to participate.

According to data from the Provincial Farmers' Association, in the first nine months of 2025, farmers' association members throughout the province contributed nearly 16,000 man-days of labor, donated nearly 11,000 square meters of land, built and repaired nearly 140 kilometers of rural roads, reinforced 6 kilometers of irrigation canals, and built and repaired one bridge and culvert, with a total contribution of over 1.15 billion VND.

Simultaneously, mutual support and assistance in production and daily life have been effectively maintained. From the beginning of the year until now, the entire province has mobilized 2,706 man-days to help 111 member households facing difficulties, with a total support value of over 103 million VND. These actions demonstrate the spirit of "mutual support and compassion," strengthening community bonds and solidarity among farmers.

Farmers' association members actively participate in environmental sanitation, contributing to the fulfillment of environmental criteria in the construction of new rural areas.

To ensure the movement becomes more profound and achieves sustainable results, farmers' associations at all levels have set clear and synchronized directions. The focus is on close coordination with the government and relevant sectors in supporting farmers to develop production, transform the structure of crops and livestock, and apply scientific and technological advancements to increase income and improve rural living standards.

Using funds from the New Rural Development Program, the Provincial Farmers' Association has built and supported two pilot models of tea value chain linkages in cooperatives in La Bang and Dong Hy communes.

Mr. Nguyen Dinh Diep, Vice Chairman of the Provincial Farmers' Association, said: In the coming time, the associations at all levels will continue to promote their central and core role in the new rural development movement; strengthen propaganda and mobilize members to effectively implement criteria on infrastructure, environment, income and cultural life; and at the same time strengthen social supervision and criticism to ensure that programs and projects are implemented transparently and effectively.

Farmers in Thai Nguyen are gradually asserting their role as key players in the process of building new rural areas. Each project, model, and specific action of farmer association members is a vivid testament to the spirit of solidarity, the will to strive, and the aspiration for innovation. This is also an important foundation for Thai Nguyen to continue improving the criteria for advanced new rural areas, aiming towards the goal of developing ecological agriculture, modern rural areas, and civilized farmers in the new phase.
