On the evening of May 5, the opening ceremony of the 32nd SEA Games took place at Morodok Techo Stadium, Phnom Penh, Cambodia.

The opening ceremony program began with a performance titled "The Origin of Khmer".
In this section, the Organizing Committee cleverly integrated the history of the formation of the Kingdom of Cambodia through impressive light shows.
Next are three interconnected performances: The Glory of Angkor (part 1), Khmer Smile (part 2) and Khmer Future (part 3).
In the chapter "The Splendor of Angkor", the artists bring to fans the traditional atmosphere of the host country of the 32nd SEA Games.
Next, the audience enjoyed a cheerful, modern atmosphere with two performances called "Khmer Smile" and "Khmer Future".
This is a message of solidarity and aspiration for good things from the SEA Games host to all athletes and fans.
Besides the theme song "Pride of Cambodians", three songs "Cambodia Welcomes", "This is Our Moment" and "Cambodia - a Common Home for All" were also performed on the opening night.
The entire art performance at the grand ceremony was the result of the practice and creativity of about 1,000 artists from the Cambodian Ministry of Culture and Fine Arts, military personnel, members and more than 2,000 athletes.
The opening ceremony began with the flag-raising ceremony of the host country.
