What good does scolding do?

Báo Hải DươngBáo Hải Dương26/06/2023

On the weekend off, Ms. Hang let her children go to her mother's house to play. The whole afternoon, she did not see Hung, her brother's eldest son, come down to play with his younger siblings like usual. Feeling strange, Ms. Hang turned to ask Ms. Nga, her sister-in-law:

- Did Hung go out today that I didn't see him?

- What are you playing around with? Today, I found out the admission score, he didn't pass his first choice to the school you guys chose, so he just got scolded. From now until the end of summer, I forbid him from going out to play anymore, stay home to study and do housework. Tonight, I also forbid him from eating dinner.

- I also checked the admission scores for grade 10 today. With his test score, it should be enough to pass his second choice to a public school.

- Oh my god, that school is called a fireproof school. I invested the whole year like that, studying here and there, doing nothing at home but studying, but still failed... Children and nothing. I'm so angry.

- I see that he has tried hard last year, especially in the past few months, studying has made him lose weight. Since the day he found out his exam results, he probably didn't pass his first choice, he told me that he was sad and bored. But anyway, he failed, you should encourage him to overcome this period and then in the new school year try harder, study harder. High school is just the next step for him. What's important is that in the coming years, he tries to get into university or fulfill his dream. But now, even if you scold and reject him, it won't change anything. Every year, when I watch the radio and newspapers, I see that many families scold and berate their children because their children don't pass the exam as expected, causing them to leave home, some even think of giving up on life...

- Because I'm upset... Never mind. Let me go up and call him down for dinner and then ask his dad if he can go out next weekend. He's been focused on studying for the past two years and hasn't been able to go anywhere.

- Yes. If your family goes, please let my family come too. So we can have fun together.
