From smart data applications and artificial intelligence to digital connectivity solutions.

In line with Vietnam's goal of becoming one of the top 30 countries in the world for innovation and digital transformation by 2045, Michelin is pioneering the application of AI and data analytics, driving a revolution in smart, safe, and sustainable mobility.

Thanks to its ability to efficiently collect, exploit, and cross-reference data, coupled with a deep understanding of customer behavior and usage patterns, Michelin is able to leverage collected, processed, and cross-referenced data to deliver potential and feasible solutions to its customers.

Through Michelin Connected Fleet , the Group has consolidated three data science companies acquired over the past ten years: Sascar (Brazil), Nextraq (USA), and Masternaut (Europe). Combined with a "tire-as-a-service" solution – on-demand tire service – these units now service more than one million trucks and commercial vehicles globally, creating a unique database that provides a significant advantage for customers to manage their fleets effectively.

For example, the Michelin Smart Predictive Tire solution monitors tire condition in real time, predicting potential failures early thanks to advanced sensors and data analysis algorithms. This system helps businesses optimize maintenance, reduce downtime, save fuel, and cut CO₂ emissions. With its high applicability and practical contributions to safety, performance, and sustainability, the solution was honored with the I-Innovation Awards at the 2023 SOLUTRANS international exhibition.

In addition, Michelin is also fully exploiting the potential of artificial intelligence to develop specialized robotic solutions for complex handling of flexible composite materials.

To accelerate the application of AI in manufacturing, Michelin has chosen Microsoft as its partner to deploy innovative digital solutions to optimize energy management at its factories worldwide. This partnership will help the Group reduce carbon emissions and realize its commitment to achieving net-zero emissions by 2050.

Towards a smarter and more sustainable mobility platform.

In line with its "All Sustainable" commitment, Michelin has set targets: 40% of tire materials from recycled or renewable sources and a 47% reduction in CO₂ emissions by 2030 compared to 2010 levels. By 2050, the Group aims to achieve 100% sustainable materials and net zero emissions. 100% of the natural rubber used in production will be assessed as "non-deforesting".

The corporation is constantly striving to provide solutions that make transportation safer, more efficient, and more environmentally friendly, through specialized connectivity solutions, advanced tire testing technology, and the development of analytics to improve the safety of transportation infrastructure.

Mr. Jason Tan Jing Shen – General Manager of Michelin Vietnam, Cambodia, Myanmar, and Laos – emphasized: "Our goal is to make Michelin Vietnam a pioneer in the field of sustainable mobility, setting new standards for the industry. We will achieve this by building and developing a globally competitive organization where innovation is encouraged, talent is fostered, and sustainability is our guiding principle. Together, we will deliver sustainable growth and create lasting value for consumers, customers, partners, employees, society, and the planet, perfectly aligned with our 'All Sustainable' approach: People, Planet, and Performance."

In Vietnam, Michelin has reduced its CO₂ emissions by more than 50% by switching to sea transport and using renewable energy. Michelin pioneered the elimination of plastic packaging for motorcycle tires, saving more than 300,000 kg of plastic annually. In addition, the Binh Duong factory has reduced CO₂ emissions by more than 3,700 tons per year through the use of biomass boilers and solar power.

The operating model is balanced according to the principle of "Sustainability for all".

Shaping a sustainable future with a holistic value creation model.

Guided by its core values – respect for truth, people, customers, shareholders, and the environment – Michelin is charting a clear path toward a sustainable future. Every decision is made to balance People, the Planet, and Operational Efficiency.

In the tire sector, Michelin focuses on premium segments – from cars and motorcycles to specialized vehicles in mining, agriculture, and aviation – while also promoting Industry 4.0-based production closer to customers and expanding B2B services.

Through its Polymer Composite Solutions, the Group drives innovation with advanced bioplastics, active films, and reinforcing materials, while also launching strategic joint ventures such as Symbio (development and production of hydrogen fuel cell systems), ResiCare (high-performance biomaterials), and WISAMO (wind-powered sail systems for maritime transport).

Simultaneously, the Group continues to expand its LifeStyle portfolio, from the Michelin Guide and new awards such as the Green Star and Michelin Key, to diverse consumer products such as automotive accessories, bicycles, sporting goods, leisure items, and special collections.
