From smart data applications and artificial intelligence, to digital connectivity solutions
In line with Vietnam's goal of becoming a country in the top 30 in the world in innovation and digital transformation by 2045, Michelin pioneers the application of AI and data analysis, promoting the revolution of smart, safe and sustainable mobility.
Thanks to the ability to collect, exploit and cross-reference data effectively, along with a deep understanding of customer behavior and usage patterns, Michelin is able to exploit collected, processed and cross-reference data to provide customers with potential and feasible solutions.
Through Michelin Connected Fleet , the Group has integrated three data science companies acquired over the past ten years: Sascar (Brazil), Nextraq (USA) and Masternaut (Europe). Combined with their tire-as-a-service solution, these entities now serve more than one million trucks and commercial vehicles worldwide, creating a unique database that provides customers with a unique advantage in managing their fleets effectively.
Typically, the Michelin Smart Predictive Tire solution helps monitor tire condition in real time, predicting damage risks early thanks to sensors and advanced data analysis algorithms. This system supports businesses to optimize maintenance, reduce downtime, save fuel and cut CO₂ emissions. With its high applicability and practical contribution to safety, performance and sustainability, the solution was honored with the I-Innovation Awards at the SOLUTRANS international exhibition in 2023.

In addition, Michelin is also fully exploiting the potential of artificial intelligence to develop specialized robotic solutions for complex handling with flexible composite materials.
To accelerate the application of AI in manufacturing, Michelin has selected Microsoft as its partner to deploy innovative digital solutions to optimize energy management at its factories globally. This partnership will help the Group reduce carbon emissions and realize its commitment to achieve net zero emissions by 2050.
Towards a smarter and more sustainable mobility platform
In line with its commitment to "All Sustainable" , Michelin has set targets for: 40% of tyre materials from recycled or renewable sources and a 47% reduction in CO₂ emissions by 2030 compared to 2010 levels. By 2050, the Group aims to achieve 100% sustainable materials and net zero emissions. 100% of the volume of natural rubber used in production will be considered "deforestation-free".
The Group is constantly striving to provide solutions that make mobility safer, more efficient and more environmentally friendly, through dedicated connectivity solutions, advanced tire testing technology and developing analytics to improve the safety of transport infrastructure.
Mr. Jason Tan Jing Shen – General Director of Michelin Vietnam, Cambodia, Myanmar, Laos – emphasized: "Our goal is to make Michelin Vietnam a pioneer in sustainable mobility, setting new standards for the industry. We will achieve this by building and developing a globally competitive organization where innovation is encouraged, talent is promoted, and sustainable development is the guiding principle. Together, we will deliver sustainable growth and create long-term value for consumers, customers, partners, employees, society and the planet in line with our 'All in Sustainability' approach: People, Planet, and Performance."
In Vietnam, Michelin has reduced its CO₂ emissions by more than 50% by switching to ocean shipping and using renewable energy. Michelin pioneered the elimination of plastic packaging for motorcycle tires, saving more than 300,000 kg of plastic each year. In addition, the Binh Duong factory has reduced more than 3,700 tons of CO₂ each year by using biomass boilers and solar power.

Balanced operating model based on the motto "All is sustainable"
Shaping a sustainable future with a comprehensive value creation model
Guided by its core values – respect for truth, people, customers, shareholders and the environment – Michelin is charting a clear course towards a sustainable future. Every decision is about balancing People, Planet and Performance.
In the tyre sector, Michelin focuses on premium segments – from cars and two-wheelers to specialized vehicles in mining, agriculture and aviation – while promoting Industry 4.0 production closer to customers and expanding B2B services.
Through Polymer Composite Solutions, the Group drives innovation with advanced bioplastics, active membranes and reinforcement materials, and implements strategic joint ventures such as Symbio (development and production of hydrogen fuel cell systems), ResiCare (high-performance biomaterials) and WISAMO (air sail systems using wind power for marine transport).
At the same time, the Group continues to expand its Lifestyle portfolio, from the Michelin Guide, new awards such as Green Star and MICHELIN Key, to diverse consumer products such as car accessories, bicycles, sports and entertainment goods and special collections.
