An inevitable trend
Digital transformation is an inevitable and objective requirement and trend for the business community to stand firm and develop. Most businesses believe that digital transformation helps them change their working and production methods through the integration of digital technologies into business operations, thereby changing their operational methods and business models, and bringing about higher efficiency and new value…

Businesses in Can Tho City signed a Memorandum of Cooperation with VNPT Can Tho to apply digital transformation.
To realize these goals, the Party, State, and Government have recently issued many important policies with the main focus on promoting the application of Industry 4.0 technology and implementing digital transformation in all aspects of socio -economic life. This is a prerequisite and a favorable condition for businesses to apply and innovate technology.
Over the past period, the Ministry of Industry and Trade has allocated significant resources and focused on implementing a comprehensive set of programs and solutions to promote digital transformation in the industry and the manufacturing and business sector. This includes supporting the development of pilot models for information production in the fields of mechanics, plastics, electronics, and logistics. These initiatives are integrated into the Ministry's and national-level science and technology programs, with the participation of businesses, for the period 2021-2030. The pilot science and technology programs at the Ministry level, approved by the Ministry's leadership, all set specific requirements, tasks, and objectives for supporting businesses in accessing technologies from the Fourth Industrial Revolution.
The Department of E-commerce and Digital Economy (Ministry of Industry and Trade) has recently implemented many practical activities to promote e-commerce and digital transformation in localities, while supporting businesses and the startup community in applying digital technology to business. In particular, in 2025, the Department of E-commerce and Digital Economy will coordinate the organization of conferences, training programs, and regional events to enhance the capacity for implementing e-commerce in provinces and cities.
The Center for E-commerce and Digital Technology Development (eComDX), under the Department of E-commerce and Digital Economy, also implements numerous training and workshops in provinces and cities to enhance the capacity of businesses and young entrepreneurs in applying digital technology and advanced e-commerce tools. This helps businesses access new technological solutions, thereby improving business efficiency.
Mr. Ha Vu Son, Director of the Department of Industry and Trade of Can Tho City, said that in implementing Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW dated December 22, 2024, of the Politburo on breakthroughs in the development of science, technology, innovation, and digital transformation of the nation (Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW), the Ministry of Industry and Trade has issued many documents and policies to promote digital transformation in the industry and trade sector, and to implement the National Strategy on the development of the digital economy and digital society. In the field of industry and trade, the development of science, technology, innovation, and digital transformation has made a positive contribution to socio-economic development.
Businesses that are "in the thick of the ring"
Rapidly introducing new technologies into production and business, applying digital transformation, gives businesses the opportunity to develop quickly and create breakthroughs. Businesses are implementing digital transformation by applying new technologies such as e-commerce, Big Data, IoT, and cloud computing to change business models, work processes, and improve operational efficiency; developing online sales channels, connecting e-commerce, and promoting product consumption on digital platforms.
Mr. Pham Thai Binh, General Director of Trung An High-Tech Agriculture Joint Stock Company, believes that digital transformation in the production and business of enterprises in general, and rice production and trading enterprises in particular; especially in the process of agricultural development in the Mekong Delta region, digital transformation brings great efficiency in production, processing, and consumption. At Trung An Company, digital technology is currently applied to "record field diaries".
Currently, in the rice fields where Trung An Company collaborates with farmers, digital technology is applied by using drones equipped with technological devices. When sowing rice, the system automatically records information such as sowing time and rice variety; the spraying and fertilization processes are also recorded. During harvesting, the company applies digital technology to combine harvesters, which can sort and weigh the rice on-site before transporting it to the factory; the rice processing and weighing processes also utilize digital technology… As a result, the company can easily trace the origin of the product. In commercial transactions with partners, especially foreign partners, the application of digital technology saves the business a lot of time and costs, such as being able to communicate with partners through online meetings; even signing contracts is done via email instead of in-person meetings.
Ms. Ta Bich Phuong, President of the Young Entrepreneurs Association of Soc Trang province (formerly), said that in the past, local leaders at all levels have paid attention to mobilizing and promoting the application of digital transformation among businesses; however, close monitoring of businesses remains limited. Currently, some businesses, especially small and micro-sized enterprises, are still quite "hesitant" about digital transformation, as they don't know where to start or how to implement it.
"Objectively speaking, many businesses still haven't fully embraced digital transformation and therefore aren't enthusiastic about it. In small and micro-businesses, the exchange of goods and services is limited to social media platforms (Zalo, Facebook, TikTok, etc.). They think that's enough and pay little attention to digital transformation. Therefore, we hope that city leaders, especially the Department of Industry and Trade, will pay more attention to this group of businesses to provide guidance and communication so that they can work together with the local authorities to implement digital transformation," Ms. Ta Bich Phuong shared.
Given the changing business environment and customer demands, digital transformation has become mandatory for businesses in general, and small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in particular, in order to maintain and thrive. With this perspective, VNPT's digital transformation framework for SMEs helps them clearly define their most important areas and objectives, and the necessary operations for digital transformation, with specific priorities.
Accordingly, businesses will be able to use digital transformation applications on a digital infrastructure: Telecommunications - Cloud computing infrastructure - Industry 4.0 technology. VNPT also applies technology to generate unique and random codes for each VNPT Check stamp. According to VNPT, the anti-counterfeiting measures for VNPT Check stamps are almost absolute… With these outstanding benefits, after a period of dedicated implementation, VNPT has had over 5,000 businesses and cooperatives nationwide using the service, with approximately 100 million stamps used in the past year…
