This includes supporting the construction of pilot models of information production in the fields of mechanics, plastics, electronics, logistics, etc. These contents have been integrated by the Ministry into the Ministry-level and national science and technology programs with the participation of enterprises in the period 2021-2030. The pilot science and technology programs at the Ministry level that have been developed and submitted to the leaders of the Ministry of Industry and Trade for approval all set out specific requirements, tasks and targets in supporting enterprises to access technology from the 4.0 industrial revolution.

The Department of E-commerce and Digital Economy (Ministry of Industry and Trade) has recently carried out many practical activities to promote e-commerce and digital transformation in localities, while supporting businesses and the startup community in applying digital technology to business. In particular, in 2025, the Department of E-commerce and Digital Economy will coordinate to organize conferences, training programs and regional linkage events, improving the capacity to deploy e-commerce in provinces and cities.

The Center for E-commerce and Digital Technology Development (eComDX) under the Department of E-commerce and Digital Economy also implements many training and coaching programs in provinces and cities to improve the capacity of businesses and young entrepreneurs in applying digital technology and advanced e-commerce tools. This helps businesses access new technology solutions, thereby improving the efficiency of business operations.

Mr. Ha Vu Son, Director of the Department of Industry and Trade of Can Tho City, said that implementing Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW dated December 22, 2024 of the Politburo on breakthroughs in science, technology, innovation and national digital transformation (Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW), the Ministry of Industry and Trade issued many documents and policies to promote digital transformation in the industry and trade sector, implementing the National Strategy on digital economic development and digital society. In the field of industry and trade, thanks to the development of science, technology, innovation and digital transformation, it has actively contributed to socio-economic development.

"Real combat" business

The rapid introduction of new technologies into production and business by applying digital transformation helps businesses have the opportunity to develop rapidly, creating breakthrough developments. Businesses are implementing digital transformation by applying new technologies such as e-commerce, Big data, IoT, cloud computing to change business models, work processes and improve operational efficiency; develop online sales channels, connect e-commerce, promote product consumption on digital platforms.

Mr. Pham Thai Binh, General Director of Trung An High-Tech Agriculture Joint Stock Company, said that digital transformation in production and business of enterprises in general, rice production and business enterprises in particular; especially in the process of agricultural development in the Mekong Delta, digital transformation brings great efficiency in both production and business to processing and consumption. Currently, in the rice fields, Trung An Company cooperates with farmers to apply digital technology by using drones equipped with technology devices. When sowing rice, the system automatically records information such as sowing time, rice variety; the process of spraying pesticides and spreading fertilizers is also recorded by the device. When harvesting, the company applies digital technology on combine harvesters, it can classify and weigh rice on the spot before transporting it to the factory; the process of rice processing, weighing and measuring also applies digital technology... Thanks to that, the company can easily trace the origin. In commercial transactions with partners, especially foreign partners, thanks to the application of digital technology, businesses save a lot of time and costs such as being able to communicate with partners through online meetings; even signing contracts also uses email instead of meeting in person.

Ms. Ta Bich Phuong, President of the Young Entrepreneurs Association of Soc Trang Province (formerly), said that in recent times, local leaders have been interested in mobilizing and promoting businesses to apply digital transformation, but their close contact with businesses is still limited. Currently, some businesses, especially small and micro businesses, are still quite "confused" about digital transformation, that is, they do not know where to start and how to implement it.

“Objectively, many businesses have not yet approached deeply and are not interested in digital transformation. At small and micro businesses, the exchange of goods and services only stops at using social networking platforms (Zalo, Facebook, Tiktok, etc.). Because they think that is enough and do not care much about digital transformation. Therefore, I hope that the city leaders, especially the Industry and Trade sector, will pay more attention to this group of businesses so that they can guide and communicate so that businesses and localities can implement digital transformation,” Ms. Ta Bich Phuong shared.

Faced with the changing business environment and customer needs, the digital transformation trend has become mandatory for businesses in general and small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in particular to be able to maintain and develop strongly.
