Minibuses are compact and maneuverable, especially on narrow streets.

Flexibility to adapt to practical realities.

The Urban Traffic Management and Operation Center, under the Department of Construction of Can Tho City, currently manages 9 inter-provincial bus routes, with a total actual operating length of 438.7 km. It operates 65 modern buses with automatic doors, air conditioning, Wi-Fi, Euro 4 emission standards, and accessibility features for people with disabilities.

To ensure bus routes meet actual demand, the Urban Traffic Management and Operation Center, in coordination with Phuong Trang Passenger Transport Joint Stock Company - FUTA Bus Lines, regularly reviews and updates traffic and passenger data, adjusting routes (optimizing frequency, running time, and connectivity between routes). This contributes to increasing the efficiency of bus routes, reducing travel time, and attracting passengers. For example, routes CT-01 and CT-03 (Ba Lang - O Mon - Lo Te Junction) were merged; route CT-08 (Can Tho - Giai Xuan - Phong Dien) had its starting point adjusted to Song Hau Park and its end point to Ong Hao historical site… In addition, the frequency of some routes such as Ba Lang - O Mon - Lo Te Junction; Song Hau Park - Kinh Cung town (old); Lo Te Junction - Kinh B - Kien Giang Provincial Bus Station (old)… has been adjusted according to actual demand, ensuring the travel needs of the people. people.

Over the past period, Can Tho City has consistently focused on improving infrastructure to support bus operations. The city currently has over 1,600 bus stops, shelters, and transfer points funded by the state budget. Of these, 501 shelters and stops have been newly constructed or renovated to modern standards, and the bus fleet is diverse and suitable for the traffic conditions. In addition to large 40-seat buses, Phuong Trang Passenger Transport Joint Stock Company - FUTA Bus Lines has also introduced mini-buses with a capacity of 20-24 passengers. These mini-buses are flexible, compact, and effective on small, narrow roads and in suburban areas.

Mr. Nguyen Van Sau from Truong Long commune, Can Tho city, said: "Although mini-buses are compact, the interior is still spacious, with comfortable seating and all the amenities of a larger bus. On narrow rural roads, mini-buses are more convenient to use."

Continue expanding the bus network.

Over the past period, the 9 inter-provincial bus routes in the city have basically operated stably, on schedule, and safely. These bus routes are designed to ensure connectivity between major attractions such as schools, hospitals, supermarkets, and industrial zones, supporting convenient travel for residents within the city to nearby areas. The city also has inter-provincial bus routes, increasing connectivity between neighboring localities. For example, the Can Tho - Vinh Long route (47km); Can Tho - Vung Liem (old), 76km; Can Tho - Sa Dec City (old), 54km; Lo Te Junction - Sa Dec City (old), 47km; Lo Te Junction - Chau Doc, 64km…

According to the Urban Traffic Management and Operation Center, the center continues to research and advise the Department of Construction on completing the construction, adjustment, and publication of the list of intra-provincial and inter-provincial bus routes in Can Tho City to suit the actual situation in the new phase. The center continues to promote widespread and continuous information dissemination through various forms to attract people to use buses.

According to Phuong Trang Passenger Transport Joint Stock Company - FUTA Bus Lines, with its experience and operational capacity, the company is committed to accompanying Can Tho City in expanding, improving, and enhancing the quality of the bus network. This will contribute to the formation of a modern and efficient public transport system, better serving the community of Can Tho City. Based on the city's public transport development orientation after the administrative boundary expansion, the company will develop a bus network development plan that is appropriate to the actual situation.

Regarding the expansion of its network, Phuong Trang Passenger Transport Joint Stock Company - FUTA Bus Lines is researching and proposing bus routes connecting Can Tho City with the areas merged from the former Hau Giang and Soc Trang provinces, ensuring smooth and convenient transportation between the city center and suburban areas. Priority will be given to routes serving industrial zones, schools, hospitals, administrative centers, and densely populated residential areas, contributing to meeting the daily transportation needs of the people. Along with this, the company will invest in modern vehicles and supporting infrastructure. It plans to increase the number of buses using clean, environmentally friendly fuels, aiming for the goal of "Green Transportation - Sustainable Urban Development." The company will coordinate with relevant authorities in planning and constructing bus stops, waiting areas, and transfer points in the newly merged areas.
