Currently, the flood level of the rivers is at the second highest level, so it only causes flooding in some low-lying areas in Quang Tri, Hue City, and Da Nang City.

Explaining the difference between forecasted and actual rainfall, according to Mr. Nguyen Van Huong, Head of Weather Forecast Department, National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, this rain shows the complexity in the interaction between atmospheric systems, especially between the circulation of storm Fengshen and the strong cold air mass from the north.

When reaching Hoang Sa special zone, the storm changed direction to the southwest and moved very slowly, only about 5-10 km/h.

The storm circulation was greatly affected by the strong, dry cold air mass, so the storm weakened quickly and dissipated at sea. Therefore, the rain caused by the storm circulation was not as heavy as initially expected.
