Previously, Mingyu caused a stir when he first attended Dior's show at Paris Fashion Week in February. A series of photos of the male singer holding a white bouquet of flowers in a blue suit walking to the show went viral on social media.

Becoming a Dior ambassador, Mingyu officially joins many other Korean stars (also Dior ambassadors) such as Jimin (BTS), Haerin (NewJeans), Kim Yuna, Sehun (EXO), Han So Hee, Kim Min Ha, Jung Hae In, Lomon, boy group TXT and Jisoo (Blackpink).
