Dong Trieu town is oriented by the province to develop into a bustling, modern urban area, a dynamic development area, and a growth axis in the west of the province. To realize this goal, one of the key tasks of the town is to focus on promoting the development of transport infrastructure.

Dong Trieu Town has been focusing on mobilizing and effectively using investment resources to build and develop synchronous infrastructure in a modern direction, especially traffic infrastructure associated with the completion of the criteria for a type III urban area. The appearance of the town is changing a lot, promoting its own strengths to achieve new goals.

Many important traffic projects and works in the area have been invested, completed and put into operation, such as: Upgrading roads and building Dong Mai bridge from Nguyen Hue commune (Dong Trieu town) to Van Duc ward (Chi Linh city, Hai Duong province); upgrading and expanding National Highway 18; upgrading provincial roads DT326, DT333; roads to the Tran Dynasty tomb area; provincial road 345 connecting with Hai Duong province, Bac Giang province... These works have created connectivity in connecting traffic infrastructure between the town and neighboring areas, creating leverage for tourism development, services and other economic sectors, increasing the attractiveness of attracting domestic and foreign investors. In particular, the Cau Trieu project not only connects with Hai Duong's provincial road 389, but will later be synchronously connected with the riverside route connecting with the Ha Long - Hai Phong expressway through Quang Yen town and Uong Bi city, creating a vital and smooth traffic system, opening up new development prospects for the entire western region of the province.

Over the past 5 years, many dynamic projects such as the spiritual road Ho Thien - Ngoa Van, provincial road 345 connecting with Hai Duong, Bac Giang; the central road from National Highway 18 to the Ngoa Van - Ho Thien relic site... have been implemented, bringing about effective socio-economic development. According to the town's statistics, the total public investment capital is over 1,879 billion VND (an increase of 54% compared to the period 2011-2015). In addition, the town has mobilized 2,000 billion VND of enterprise capital to implement traffic infrastructure projects. The promotion of these important projects has created a driving force for the development of the entire western region, especially Dong Trieu.

The central route of Dong Trieu town has been completed and put into use.

In 2023, Dong Trieu Town was assigned a total public investment capital of over 440 billion VND, of which the provincial budget supported 74 billion VND, the remaining from the town budget. The central route of Dong Trieu Town, one of the transitional projects, planned to be completed in 2023, has been focused on by the town to accelerate progress. According to the Dong Trieu Town Construction Investment Project Management Board, the project has a total investment of over 404 billion VND, and up to this point the project has been completed and put into use. The completion of this route is of great significance in meeting development requirements, creating momentum to promote trade of goods, develop production and services between the northern area of the town and National Highway 18A; connecting the pilgrimage route from Yen Tu to the Tran Dynasty Special National Relic Site in Dong Trieu; creating the premise to build Dong Trieu into a tourist destination on the national and international tourism map, in addition to mobilizing advantageous land funds on both sides of the road, the area on both sides of the Cam River and neighboring areas, creating a land fund of over 2,400 hectares to attract and invite domestic and foreign investors to invest in developing eco-tourism, spiritual tourism, high-tech agriculture, clean industry, expanding urban development, realizing the new administrative center of the town...

In the coming time, the town's traffic system will be planned in the direction of external axes in the North - South direction. Including provincial roads 345, 327, 332. In addition, external axes will also be arranged to connect appropriately with the traffic planning of Hai Duong, Hai Phong, Bac Giang and Uong Bi. External axes in the East-West direction will connect appropriately with the traffic planning of Chi Linh, Hai Duong and Uong Bi; upgrade and renovate provincial roads, develop public transport... Thereby, contributing to expanding the synchronous traffic system, opening wide the door to attracting investment to create a breakthrough in socio-economic development.
