From November 4-7, the working delegation of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee led by Vice President Hoang Cong Thuy visited and worked in China.
During his visit and working visit to China, Vice President Hoang Cong Thuy had talks with Vice President and Secretary General of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference Wang Dongfeng; met and exchanged with leaders of the Shanghai Political Consultative Conference; attended and spoke at the China Economic and Social Forum 2024; and attended the General Assembly of the International Association of Economic and Social Councils (AICESIS).
At the meeting with the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (November 5), the two sides highly appreciated the achievements of cooperation between the two Parties, the two States as well as between the Vietnam Fatherland Front and the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference in recent times; at the same time, they discussed the direction of cooperation in 2025: The two sides agreed to coordinate to organize a friendship exchange between the Vietnam Fatherland Front of 7 border provinces with Yunnan and Guangxi provinces, China, scheduled for the second quarter of 2025, considering this an important activity to celebrate the "Year of Vietnam - China Humanitarian Exchange" commemorating the 75th anniversary of the establishment of Vietnam - China diplomatic relations (January 18, 1950 - January 18, 2025).
On November 7, Vice President Hoang Cong Thuy attended and delivered an important speech at the opening session of the China Economic and Social Forum 2024. In his speech, Vice President Hoang Cong Thuy affirmed Vietnam's foreign policy of independence, self-reliance, multilateralization and diversification, consistent with the spirit of peace , friendship and cooperation; and emphasized Vietnam's active and responsible contributions at international and regional forums to promote the development of the international community.
Vice President Hoang Cong Thuy emphasized that the goal of building a strong social foundation and improving the effectiveness of people-to-people diplomacy is a key factor to enhance the role of the Vietnam Fatherland Front in national development, while consolidating friendly relations with countries in the region and the world; at the same time, he expressed his desire to further strengthen cooperation and solidarity to contribute to building a world of peace and sustainable development.
Previously, within the framework of the visit and working in China, Vice President Hoang Cong Thuy and the delegation attended the meetings at the AICESIS General Assembly Conference; met on the sidelines with a number of organizations that are partners of the Vietnam Fatherland Front such as: the Korean Economic and Social Council, the Russian Federation Social Chamber; and exchanged work experiences with the Shanghai Municipal People's Political Consultative Conference.
The visit and working session of the delegation of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee in China this time has achieved many important results, affirming the role of Vietnam in international forums, at the same time promoting cooperation between Vietnam and China; contributing to strengthening foreign relations, promoting bilateral cooperation between Vietnam and China, and expanding effective cooperation programs, enhancing friendly relations between the two peoples.
