At 1:00 p.m. on March 21, the price of SJC gold bars and gold rings listed by SJC, PNJ, and DOJI businesses was 96.1 million VND/tael for buying and 98.6 million VND/tael for selling, down 1.3 million VND per tael compared to the morning.
Compared to the all-time peak, the price of SJC gold bars has "evaporated" by 1.8 million VND/tael.
The price of SJC gold bars and gold rings on the morning of March 21 is still sky high.
This is a rather surprising development after the continuous increase in the price of SJC gold bars in recent days. Enterprises also widened the difference in the buying and selling price of gold bars to 2.5 million VND/tael.
Also 24K gold bars, PNJ's gold bars are sold at 99.92 million VND/tael; Bao Tin Minh Chau company sells Thang Long Dragon Gold bars at 99.6 million VND/tael, down about 800,000 VND/tael compared to this morning.
Meanwhile, the prices of 99.99 gold rings and jewelry gold of all kinds also left the historical peak. The price of 99.99 plain gold rings was listed by SJC company at 96 million VND/tael for buying and 98.6 million VND/tael for selling, down 1.2 million VND/tael compared to the morning.
SJC gold bar price plummets
Other brands adjusted the price of plain gold rings to decrease more slowly, such as PNJ Company selling plain gold rings for 99.2 million VND; Phu Quy selling for 99 million VND and Bao Tin Minh Chau selling for 99.6 million VND/tael.
Domestic gold prices unexpectedly adjusted at noon, although world prices remained unchanged. At 1 p.m. Vietnam time, the precious metal was trading at $3,030 an ounce, stable compared to this morning's session.
According to analysts, gold prices fell faster than the world price because many people sold to take profits after the price of SJC gold bars and gold rings reached a peak of over 100 million VND yesterday.
