On the afternoon of June 4th, a heavy rain lasting over two hours poured down on the districts of Trang Bom, Long Thanh, Vinh Cuu, Nhon Trach, and Bien Hoa City, accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning. The heavy rain caused severe flooding on many roads, hindering drainage and making travel difficult for residents. Many households had to move their belongings due to deep flooding inside their homes.
According to VietNamNet, in Nhon Trach district, heavy rain caused localized flooding on several roads. The water level reached half a meter, causing numerous vehicles to break down and significantly hindering people's travel.
Meanwhile, in Long Thanh district, people had to move their belongings to higher ground to protect their property. Some households had to move to relatives' houses in areas not affected by flooding to temporarily stay and wait for the water to recede.
Mr. Tran Khac Sinh (residing in Long Phuoc commune, Long Thanh district) said that the heavy rain started around 6 PM, and just 30 minutes later, the water rose and flooded the lodging area where many workers live. All the rooms had to have their belongings moved to higher ground.
"Luckily, the heavy rain fell on a Sunday, when the workers and tenants were at home, so everyone proactively moved their belongings to higher ground, and there was no damage," Mr. Sinh said.
Meanwhile, on Bui Van Hoa street (Bien Hoa City), water from upstream streams flows in large quantities, overflowing onto the road surface. Every time a car passes by, the road surface creates continuous waves that crash into the houses of residents on both sides of the road. Business and trade for people along this road have also been paralyzed.
According to the Dong Nai Meteorological and Hydrological Station, in the coming days, Dong Nai province will experience localized heavy rainfall with strong intensity. The weather will be changeable, cloudy with rain in many areas, scattered moderate to heavy rain, and very heavy rain and thunderstorms in some places. Be prepared for thunderstorms, tornadoes, and strong gusts of wind.
