Specifically, starting from the night of May 9 to the early morning of May 10, in Bao Yen district, there was rain, moderate rain, and heavy rain. In particular, in the communes of Luong Son, Nghia Do, Yen Son, Pho Rang town, etc., heavy rain accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning strikes caused impacts and damage to property, facilities, and people's lives.

According to a quick report from the People's Committees of communes and towns, heavy rain and whirlwinds damaged and blew off the roofs of 20 houses, causing an estimated loss of 303 million VND.
Of these, 7 houses in Luong Son, Pho Rang town had their roofs blown off; 1 house in Luong Son commune was 70% damaged; 4 houses in Yen Son commune were 30 - 50% damaged...
Heavy rain and whirlwinds also damaged more than 4 hectares of rice, crops, and forestry trees in Luong Son and Yen Son communes and Pho Rang town.
In addition, some infrastructure works and cultural houses were also affected.


Immediately after the disaster occurred, the District Steering Committee for Disaster Prevention and Control directed the People's Committees of communes and towns affected by the disaster to mobilize local forces and local people to help families affected by agricultural and forestry production and housing. At the same time, detailed statistics were made of households affected by agricultural and forestry production and housing; reports were compiled and proposed to the District People's Committee for solutions; and urgent inspection and review of households living in areas at risk of natural disasters (slope areas, riverbanks, streams, dam banks of irrigation and hydropower reservoirs, etc. at risk of flash floods, landslides, and inundation) to have plans for urgent evacuation when necessary.
Particularly for Luong Son commune - the most severely damaged locality, the Head of the District Steering Committee for Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue directed the member of the Steering Committee in charge of the area to directly go to the grassroots level to direct and inspect the direction and recovery work of the commune level, and at the same time visit and encourage families affected and damaged by natural disasters.
In addition, the People's Committees of communes and towns; heads of agencies and units; members of the District's Steering Committee for Disaster Prevention and Control and Search and Rescue, based on assigned tasks and areas, have been directed to go to the grassroots to grasp the situation, guide and direct disaster response work, minimize possible damage; promptly report the situation to the Head of the District Steering Committee for Disaster Prevention and Control and Search and Rescue for direction.
