Nam Dinh cancels auction results for sand mining rights on the Red River

The sand mine that Nam Dinh just canceled the auction results of exploitation rights is located in Giao Thien commune (Giao Thuy district) of Xuan Thuy Seafood Joint Stock Company.

On November 28, the People's Committee of Nam Dinh province issued a decision to cancel the auction results of the right to exploit sand minerals in area S1, Giao Thien sand mine on the Red River, in Giao Thien commune (Giao Thuy district) of Xuan Thuy Seafood Joint Stock Company (Giao Xuan commune, Giao Thuy district, Nam Dinh province).

The remaining sand mine exploitation area is too small, overlapping with the bridge protection corridor, so it does not meet exploitation conditions (illustrative photo).

Area S1 of Giao Thien sand mine on the Red River is located in Giao Thien commune, Giao Thuy district, Nam Dinh province, with an auction area of ​​31 hectares and a geological reserve of sand minerals of 888,077m3.

After the sand mine was auctioned in accordance with current regulations, the People's Committee of Nam Dinh province recognized the winning auction results for mineral exploitation rights with a scale of 31 hectares at this sand mine.

However, the Vietnam Inland Waterways Administration has commented on the fact that the exploited area of ​​S1 overlaps with the national inland waterway.

In addition, compared with the regulations on the protection corridor of the Red River bridge project under the coastal road construction investment project of Thai Binh province, the exploitation area S1 also overlaps.

At the same time, the mining area (remaining 6.77 hectares) is much smaller than the auctioned mine area (31 hectares), not qualified to be put into exploitation.

In the cancellation decision, the Nam Dinh Provincial People's Committee requested the Department of Natural Resources and Environment, the Department of Justice and relevant units to coordinate in carrying out necessary procedures according to regulations, ensuring the legitimate rights of relevant parties, and proactively preventing illegal mineral exploitation.
