A male student in Gia Lai was awarded the Second Class Labor Medal by the President of Vietnam.

TPO - Le Kien Thanh (12th grade Computer Science student, Le Quy Don High School for the Gifted, Gia Lai province) has been honored with the Second Class Labor Medal by the President of Vietnam for his outstanding achievements in winning a Gold Medal at the International Informatics Olympiad and a Silver Medal at the Asian Informatics Olympiad in 2025.

On December 13th, Mr. Huynh Le Minh, Principal of Le Quy Don Specialized High School, announced that Le Kien Thanh, a 12th-grade student in Informatics at the school, was honored with the Second Class Labor Medal by the President of Vietnam for his outstanding achievements in winning a Gold Medal at the 2025 International Informatics Olympiad and a Silver Medal at the 2025 Asian Informatics Olympiad.

In addition, Le Quy Don Specialized High School and Le Kien Thanh's homeroom teacher also received commendations from the Ministry of Education and Training .

According to Mr. Minh, Le Kien Thanh is one of the school's outstanding students, and he has achieved many commendable accomplishments over the past time. During his studies at the school, Thanh has also achieved high scores in various exams; not only is he excellent in computer science, but he is also well-rounded, excelling in all aspects of his studies, achieving excellent academic results for all three years of grades 10, 11, and 12. He also achieved an IELTS score of 8.0.

In the youth movement, Le Kien Thanh has also achieved many accomplishments. He was a top-performing student at the provincial level in the 2022-2023 school year; received the Ngo May Award in 2023; and was recognized as an outstanding youth following Uncle Ho's teachings for the 2023-2025 period at the central level.

In an interview with Tien Phong newspaper , Le Kien Thanh shared that his journey to achieving these accomplishments was not only the result of tireless training, but also a lesson in perseverance and courage.

“I will always remember the nervous feeling of facing the difficult exam questions, but thanks to everyone's support, I was able to confidently shine. This achievement also proves that no effort is in vain. I also hope that this medal will inspire other young people to dare to dream and pursue their passions,” Thành shared.

Leaders of the Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee met with and presented awards to Le Kien Thanh.

Earlier, the Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee also held a meeting to commend Le Kien Thanh; the Provincial People's Committee awarded him 100 million VND as a congratulatory gift and to praise his achievements.

At the ceremony, Mr. Lam Hai Giang, Vice Chairman of the Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee, emphasized that Le Kien Thanh's achievement is not only a source of pride for him, his family, and his school, but also a "powerful testament" to Vietnamese intelligence and the aspirations of Gia Lai students. The province will continue to pay attention to and invest in advanced education, discover and nurture young talents, and spread the spirit of learning and the desire to contribute to all students.
