Determining the origin of products and goods is very important in managing, enhancing product value, creating trust with consumers, and increasing competitiveness in the market. Therefore, in recent times, the Thanh Hoa Department of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries Quality Management has implemented many tasks and activities to support organizations, production and business households in implementing traceability.

According to statistics from the Thanh Hoa Department of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries Quality Management, from the beginning of 2023 to now, the department has supported the issuance of product traceability stamps (TXNG) to about 30 enterprises, cooperatives, and establishments producing and trading agricultural, forestry and fishery food, with a quantity of nearly 500,000 stamps. From the QR code on the product packaging, consumers can use their smartphones to access a lot of information (date, month of production, expiry date and origin of the item...), thereby being more assured about the quality of the products they choose to buy... In order to build a safe agricultural, forestry and fishery food supply chain, the Thanh Hoa Department of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries Quality Management continues to orient and support production and trading establishments and enterprises to proactively invest in machinery, apply science and technology in production and business to improve productivity and product quality. In addition, guide localities to replicate and expand the supply chain of safe agricultural products, implement measures to ensure good control of agricultural, forestry and fishery production and business activities in the area, products brought to the market comply with regulations on packaging, labeling and product quality; promote the development of agricultural product consumption markets in many forms, such as: supporting production establishments to participate in trade fairs, craft village fairs; coordinate with provinces and cities to organize conferences to connect production and consumption of agricultural products; organize the consumption of safe agricultural products on e-commerce sites, social networks, etc.
Although many enterprises, cooperatives, production facilities... have promoted the application of science and technology in labeling products, currently, the application of labeling products on products has not been standardized in terms of content and form, there are no unified regulations on solutions for reading traceability labels; there is a lack of specific regulations for declaring, monitoring and ensuring traceability information. On the other hand, small and medium enterprises, individual production and business households have limited financial resources, so they face many difficulties in researching, building and implementing traceability systems for each specific product and product group...
In the context of economic integration, Vietnamese enterprises in general and Thanh Hoa province enterprises in particular are facing huge challenges and obstacles when accessing domestic and foreign consumer markets, due to the appearance of products of unknown origin. The construction and application of the TXNG system not only helps consumers access product information in a complete and systematic manner, but also helps management agencies improve the effectiveness of State management of anti-commercial fraud solutions and serve the work of building market regulation policies. At the same time, it helps enterprises, cooperatives... in production and business to build a legal basis for products and goods to meet integration requirements, promote enterprises and enhance brands for development, contributing to protecting the interests of related parties.
In order to promote the application of science and technology in product traceability, on April 7, 2020, the Provincial People's Committee issued Plan No. 1221/KH-UBND approving the plan to deploy, apply and manage the product traceability system in the province by 2025. Accordingly, by 2025, 100% of the province's key products and OCOP products of the province will have traceable product origin; at least 30% of enterprises, production and business establishments using codes and barcodes in the province will have a product traceability system that meets national and international standards on traceability; build a product and goods traceability information portal in the province connected to the national product traceability information portal and software connecting supply and demand of agricultural products and safe food in the province to operate effectively and stably.
It can be said that the construction of a safe agricultural, forestry and fishery food supply chain at the Thanh Hoa Department of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries Quality Management not only strengthens consumer confidence but is also an important factor in improving production efficiency, forming concentrated commodity production areas that meet standards, enhancing the value and competitiveness of products; creating a positive change in people's awareness and responsibility in producing and consuming safe products, meeting practical requirements, and developing sustainable agriculture and rural areas.
