The Russian Defense Ministry announced that after a period of fierce fighting, the Russian army took control of the village of Umanskoye in the self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic. This is a remarkable result after a period of Russian forces launching attacks in the Pokrovsky direction.
According to the Defense Ministry, the Russian army repelled the 23rd and 24th Mechanized Brigades of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the 109th Territorial Defense Brigade in the settlements of Novgorodskoye, Evgenovka, Rozovka and Novoselovka First in the self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic.
In addition, the Russian army also repelled five counterattacks by assault groups of the 47th and 110th Mechanized Brigades of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the settlements of Novoaleksandrovka, Solovyevo, Sokol and Novopokrovskoye of the Donetsk People's Republic (self-proclaimed).

In the Ocheretinsky direction, the Russian Armed Forces have also begun attacking the village of Sokol. According to public Ukrainian reports, fighting began right inside the village. Russian troops attacked the village from two sides, from the southeast and northeast.
In the morning, the Russian army began offensive operations, advancing towards Sokol, the two sides engaged in extremely fierce fighting.
Sokol is a strategically important position in the Ocheretinsky direction. Therefore, the control of the village of Sokol could change the balance of power in the region. The Russian offensive was accompanied by the use of artillery and aviation, which put the defense of the Ukrainian positions under great pressure.
Not only stepping up attacks on the front, the Russian army also stepped up attacks on military positions and infrastructure serving the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the rear.

Witnesses said a series of explosions began in the morning and lasted for several minutes. Thick clouds of smoke immediately rose from the scene and the sound of the explosions was heard even in areas quite far from the port.
