According to New Atlas , mud bricks are actually a traditional building technique for keeping cool in the desert, now repurposed for the museum.
The Asaan Misk Heritage Museum will be located in Diriyah, near the Saudi Arabian capital Riyadh. "Asaan" means "heritage passed down through generations."
The museum's design is inspired by the region's traditional mud-brick architecture, some of which date back hundreds of years and are suited to the harsh desert climate.
This is the first project to use mud brick material, which has thermal insulation properties in hot desert environments. This material is intended to maintain internal temperatures and reduce energy consumption for cooling.

Further details about the project are still scarce at this early stage, for example it is unclear whether reinforced concrete will be used. What is certain is that the bricks will be locally produced – made from a mixture of clay, straw and water, then dried in the sun to harden.
The museum, designed by Zaha Hadid Architects, covers an area of 40,000 square metres and is arranged around three covered courtyards, which includeeducational , artistic and administrative areas.
The main area will showcase the rich collection of cultural artifacts through interactive exhibitions and displays. In addition, the museum plans to build a conservation laboratory to restore and preserve heritage artifacts and artworks.
The Asaan Misk Heritage Museum is being built in collaboration with the Misk Foundation - a Saudi Arabian non-profit organization and has now begun construction.
