Nghe An trains in applying artificial intelligence in population work

On the morning of August 22, Nghe An Department of Health organized a training conference on the application of artificial intelligence (AI) in population and development work, with the participation of more than 350 population officers and officials in the province and units under the department.

In his opening remarks, Mr. Nguyen Van Nam, Deputy Director of the Department of Health, emphasized that in the context of the ongoing digital transformation, the application of artificial intelligence (AI) in the field of population is an inevitable trend, contributing to the modernization of management, data analysis, and forecasting of population changes by age, gender, and region.

According to Mr. Nguyen Van Nam, AI not only helps build intervention models suitable for each locality, detect and provide early warnings of gender imbalance at birth, but also supports the automation of reporting, statistics, and monitoring of population indicators. In particular, this technology also contributes to personalizing communication and counseling on reproductive health and family planning, improving the quality and effectiveness of population work.

Nghe An is a province with a large population, a vast geographical area, and diverse regions; therefore, management practices need to shift strongly from manual to digital, from experience to data analysis, and utilize modern tools such as AI to improve decision-making efficiency.

During the training course, participants were introduced to topics including: an overview and trends of AI application in population work; practical use of AI to support report writing, document drafting, and data analysis; application of AI in planning, record management, and forecasting population trends; and skills in designing communication content using AI.
