Solving employment for the near future 231 thousand labor

The report at the conference said: In the context of the socio -economic situation in the 2021-2025 period being affected by many epidemics, natural disasters, and growth decline, Nghe An is still determined to develop goals associated with job creation and sustainable poverty reduction.
As a result, the province has created jobs for 230,763 workers, reaching 109.88% of the plan, an increase of more than 22% compared to the 2016-2020 period. Of which, 98,427 workers were sent to work abroad for a limited period, continuing to hold the leading position in the country in terms of the number of workers going under contract.

Vocational training has been promoted with more than 330,150 participants; the employment rate after training reached over 81%, many professions achieved 100% employment after graduation. Notably, the rate of students graduating with good and excellent grades reached over 35%. Vocational training institutions have gradually linked with businesses, implemented training according to orders, creating human resources to meet market needs.
During this period, the whole province has nearly 10,000 new enterprises, contributing to creating many stable jobs. Labor productivity in 2024 reached 135.5 million VND/person/year, 2.27 times higher than in 2020. Average salary of workers in the enterprise sector increased from 5.8 million VND/person/month (2020) to 7.05 million VND/person/month (2024).

By sector, service sector workers have the highest income (VND 6,317 million/month), followed by industry - construction (VND 5,506 million/month) and agriculture - forestry - fishery (VND 4,046 million/month). These figures show a positive shift in the labor structure, increasing the proportion of trained workers to 71.5%, while reducing the unemployment rate in urban areas to below 3%.
Focus on improving the quality of labor supply and demand connection
In addition to the achieved results, the job creation work in Nghe An still shows limitations: the quality of human resources is not uniform, there is a shortage of skilled workers; some localities and industries are not proactive and determined in implementation; the income of workers is still lower than the national average. These are issues that need to be analyzed and solutions found to improve efficiency in the coming time.

At the conference, delegates discussed and proposed the goals for the 2026-2030 period: Striving to create jobs for over 230,000 workers, raising the rate of trained workers to 77%, of which those with diplomas and certificates reach 37.8%; in ethnic minority and mountainous areas alone, the rate will reach 70%, of which those with diplomas and certificates reach 31.5%.

Concluding the conference, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Hoang Phu Hien requested: Local units need to continue to thoroughly grasp and effectively implement policies and guidelines on employment. It is necessary to research and develop programs and plans closely linked to socio-economic development planning; strongly promote investment attraction, expand production and business to create more new jobs.
In addition, it is necessary to focus on improving the quality of labor supply-demand connection, promoting the effectiveness of the Employment Service Center; promoting job counseling and referral, providing labor market information to workers and businesses. At the same time, strengthening career orientation and guidance for students after junior high school and high school, and developing vocational training plans suitable to actual needs.
The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee also requested units and enterprises to strictly implement legal regulations on recruitment, pay attention to using local labor; regularly improve working conditions, and increase income for workers. This is a key factor to ensure sustainable development, improve people's lives, and meet the requirements of integration and development.

Also at the conference, 12 individuals and collectives were awarded Certificates of Merit by the Provincial People's Committee Chairman for their outstanding achievements in job creation in the 2021 - 2025 period.
