Artist Ngoc Tam Tam has been active in the field of reformed opera since she was a child, singing with artists Thanh Xuan, Huu Loi, Minh Phung... However, compared to many of her contemporaries, she is not a very famous name. In a conversation with artist Phi Phung's group, Ngoc Tam Tam honestly shared: "The uncles and aunts of the Ho Quang troupes know a lot. But because my family was so poor in the past, I just went to the provincial troupe to earn money for my family."

Having gone through an unfinished marriage with a husband who was also active in a singing troupe, Ngoc Tam Tam lives alone in her old age. Previously, she worked as a street vendor in Long An , but because she did not have a permanent place, her work also encountered many difficulties.

After that, the female artist went to Binh Duong to live, then moved to Ho Chi Minh City, living temporarily in a small room in a parking lot, covered with tarpaulins. Seeing the situation of the female cai luong artist, Phi Phung's group could not help but feel sorry.

Ngoc Tam Tam said that this room was rented for 500,000 VND/month, and is where she lives. Her performance items are neatly stored in plastic bags, and she has to borrow a bed for convenience. Up to now, the female artist has been here for about 5 months. She choked up when talking about her life: "Many times when I go to perform, it rains and gets wet. Sometimes snakes even come in, I'm very scared, but if I don't live here, where else can I live?"

The hard life of the artist left her lacking everything. She said there were times when she didn’t eat rice and had to eat instant noodles to survive. “Many people told me to try to find a place to stay. But now the price of a place to stay is nearly 2 million VND a month so I don’t dare. I just stay here, the cost is a few hundred thousand VND, I can still try,” the cai luong singer confided.

Talking about the stage, artist Ngoc Tam Tam tearfully shared: “Even though I am old now, I still love my job. When people call me to sing, I call a motorbike taxi to come and go. I am happy to be able to sing 2-3 times a month because I have money for medicine. Now, every time the weather changes, I get a headache, and I also have high blood pressure.” During the conversation, she spontaneously sang an excerpt from Ho Quang, receiving praise from the artists of the Ngu Long Du Ky group.

Listening to the female artist's sharing, the representative of the Ngu Long Du Ky group confided: "The first time visiting a situation, I felt choked up." Meanwhile, many viewers also felt sorry for Ngoc Tam Tam's fate in her old age.
