Stemming from the great spiritual meaning of the phrase “national reunification”, towards the 50th anniversary of the liberation of the South and national reunification, Nam Giang realized that “Unification Song” is a joyful, radiant and proud melody that will be sung by many people during these days. Therefore, he “ordered” a young musician also from Nghe An working in Hanoi to re-arrange “Unification Song” to suit his voice, as well as the current taste of young people enjoying revolutionary music .

“Song of Unification” by musician Vo Van Di, arranged by flutist Phan Ba Sang, born in 2001, from Thanh Chuong, in a fast tempo, 4/4 time signature, imbued with the bold, cheerful character of Central Vietnam’s folk songs.
The prelude of the new arrangement is gentle and calm, and then reaches a climax in the chorus. There are some embellishments of the monochord, which are characteristic of traditional musical instruments.
The final highlight of the MV is the singer singing along with children, the future buds of the country, and that is also the message that singer Nam Giang wants to send to the young generation.
Nam Giang said: "When discussing with the composer, I also reminded him that the song was inherently very good, very beautiful and hearty, so my job was to convey all of that meaning, but the arrangement had to ensure new elements, rich in personality, so that the audience would not get bored when listening to the old song."

The author of "Song of Unification" is musician Vo Van Di (1932-2005), from Nghi Loc, Nghe An . The musician's daughter shared that the first emotions that led musician Vo Van Di to write "Song of Unification" were the moment he heard the news of the historic victory on April 30, 1975 while on a boat from the North to the South to perform.
The song is considered the pinnacle of the musician's writing career and 50 years after the country was completely independent and entered a new era, the song still resonates in the hearts of the Vietnamese people.

The first artist to perform the song was People's Artist Thu Hien. At that time, musician Vo Van Di lived in the same apartment complex as People's Artist Thu Hien. After the song was composed, musician Vo Van Di immediately gave it to Thu Hien. He once said that Thu Hien was the one who sang this song best, conveying the most complete meaning and emotions of the notes and lyrics in "Unification Song". After Thu Hien, many other artists also performed "Unification Song" very successfully.

According to the archives of VOV, there are two recordings, the first performed by People's Artist Thu Hien, the second by artist Kim Phuc. Later, many other singers also chose to sing the song "Unification Song" such as: Quang Linh, Thanh Thanh Hien - Ho Quang, Pham Phuong Thao, Hong Lien, Trong Tan, Bui Thuy - Trang Dung, Dinh Trang...
Singer Nam Giang's full name is Nguyen Nam Giang, born in 1999, from Hung Chinh, Vinh City.
