According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, from the evening of May 28 to the early morning of May 30, the North will have moderate rain, heavy rain and thunderstorms, locally very heavy rain with common rainfall of 40-100mm, in some places over 250mm.

From the early morning of May 29 to the early morning of May 30, the North Central region also experienced moderate rain, heavy rain and thunderstorms, locally very heavy rain with rainfall ranging from 30-70mm, locally over 120mm.

From the evening of May 28 to the night of May 29, the South Central, Central Highlands and Southern regions will maintain moderate rain, heavy rain and thunderstorms, locally very heavy rain, forecast rainfall in the range of 30-60mm, some places over 100mm, heavy rain concentrated in the afternoon and evening.

In the coming hours, there is a risk of flash floods, landslides, and land subsidence on steep slopes and small streams in the provinces of Khanh Hoa, Ninh Thuan, Binh Thuan , Gia Lai, Lam Dong, especially in the districts of:

The meteorological agency warns of the risk of localized heavy rain, over 150mm in just 3 hours, increasing the possibility of flash floods, landslides in mountainous areas and flooding in low-lying areas and urban areas. During thunderstorms, there is a possibility of extreme weather phenomena such as tornadoes, lightning, hail and strong gusts of wind, affecting people's daily life and production.

From May 30, heavy rain in the above areas tends to decrease.

The National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting also issued a flood warning bulletin on rivers in the Northern region and Thanh Hoa province.

Accordingly, from tonight (May 28) to May 29, on Thao River, Lo River, small rivers in the North and Thanh Hoa, there may be a flood, with flood amplitude on the rivers from 2-5m.

During this flood, the flood peak on small rivers and upstream rivers is likely to reach alert level 1 and above alert level 1. The water level downstream of large rivers remains below alert level 1.

In addition, at sea, the low pressure trough has an axis at about 10-13 degrees North latitude connecting with the low pressure area at 1:00 p.m. on May 28, located at about 11.0-13.0 degrees North latitude, 111.0-113.0 degrees East longitude.

On the night of May 28 and 29, the Gulf of Tonkin, the sea area from Binh Dinh to Ca Mau, Ca Mau to Kien Giang and the Gulf of Thailand, the North East Sea (including the Hoang Sa archipelago), the central and South East Sea (including the Truong Sa archipelago) will have showers and thunderstorms. During thunderstorms, there is a risk of tornadoes, strong gusts of wind of level 6-7 and waves over 2m high.
