The City Social Work Center has just coordinated to organize the launching ceremony of 2 Youth Clubs of Dong Thuan Secondary School, Dong Thuan Commune and Vinh Thanh 2 Secondary School, Vinh Thanh Commune. The management board of the 2 clubs is dedicated to the work of protecting, caring for and educating children; planning to organize activities with practical forms and contents, suitable to the school's reality and associated with local movements. Attending the launching ceremony, the leaders of Dong Thuan and Vinh Thanh communes expressed their excitement when the Youth Club model was organized at the school, gathering students to play and participate in activities, creating motivation for them to continue going to class, having faith in the future.
The City Social Work Center has also coordinated with the Faculty of Law, Nam Can Tho University to organize a communication session to disseminate and educate the law for members of the Youth Club and students of Luong The Vinh Secondary School, Tan An Ward. Thereby, the children learned the basic contents of the Law on Children and legal regulations on child protection, care and education; children's rights and obligations; skills to recognize, prevent risks and how to seek help when necessary, support channels: national child protection hotline 111, consultation hotline 1800 8065...
Nguyen Phan Quynh Nhu, a 9th grade student, said: “The communication session has practical meaning, helping us understand, raise awareness and comply with the law; at the same time, reminding us to live responsibly towards ourselves, our families and the community, contributing to building a safe, friendly school environment and a civilized and developed society.”
Previously, the Center coordinated to organize 4 communication sessions with similar content for members of the Tuoi Hong Club and students of secondary schools: Thoi Hoa, Thoi An Dong, Truong Long and Phu Thu.
Improve model efficiency
According to Mr. Ho Thanh Hai, Director of the City Social Work Center, the city currently has 25 Youth Clubs in schools, with over 1,150 members. By joining the Club, students gradually become bolder and more confident in communicating and behaving with teachers and friends. In addition, with the material and spiritual support of the City Social Work Center, most members continue to go to school, raising positive and optimistic awareness; being sociable and united to help each other progress.
Trung Thi Kim Xuyen, a member of the Youth Club of Thoi Thanh Secondary and High School, O Mon Ward, expressed her joy when participating in the activities, absorbing a lot of useful information and knowledge in studying and improving life skills, knowing how to love, care and share opinions and thoughts with relatives and friends.
In order to contribute to improving the quality and effectiveness of the Youth Clubs, the Center focuses on coordinating with departments, branches, and units to organize communication activities to provide and equip teachers, parents, and students with necessary and appropriate knowledge and skills. In 2025, the Center will simultaneously organize many communication sessions on the Law on Children; school dialogues, school consultations; prevent and combat problems that negatively affect children, helping them supplement more knowledge and life skills, and equip themselves with a safe and effective "shield". In addition, the Center will coordinate to organize training courses and seminars to improve capacity, promote the role of the Youth Club's management board. Thereby, building practical and useful periodic club activities to meet the needs of members.
In the coming time, the City Social Work Center will strive to connect, innovate, and diversify the forms and contents of the Youth Club activities in a way that is close and practical to life. Thereby, improving the effectiveness of the close connection between schools, families and society in the work of protecting, caring for and educating children, adapting to the trend of integration and development.
