People rushed to buy Tet candy.
Hang Giay Street is home to many shops selling all kinds of sweets and candies. During the days leading up to the Lunar New Year 2024, this small street is packed with people rushing to shop.
Even from early morning, many people jostled to choose candies, nuts, wine...
According to the seller, there are all kinds of candies here, including imported goods from France, Korea, China... and domestic goods. Many buyers admit that because there are so many types, they feel like they are in a "maze", not knowing which one to buy.
Besides boxes, stores also sell by weight, this type of product is very attractive to buyers.
According to a survey, although it is close to Tet, the price of candy on Hang Giay Street has not changed much compared to normal days, from 150,000 - 350,000 VND/kg. Tet gift baskets priced from 250,000 - 1,000,000 VND are also popular. The more high-end ones cost up to several million VND.
A merchant said: "These days I have to open my shop at 7am and close at 10pm. The closer it gets to Tet, the later I have to close because there are so many customers. It is predicted that 5 days before Tet, there will be even more people shopping."
Buyers kept coming in and out, making sellers unable to stop serving them. Every now and then, they had to check the books to avoid mistakes.
Traditional goods are not inferior to imported goods, appearing in almost every store and being consumed quickly.
Cake boxes printed with dragon motifs, this year's mascot, are chosen by many people.
Ms. Thu Hang (Long Bien district, Hanoi ) said: "Every year I go to Hang Giay street to buy candy for Tet holiday. The candy here has many designs and is diverse, helping me not to waste time thinking about what to buy."
The bustling buying and selling scene from morning to night has lasted for many days on Hang Giay Street.
Goods are transported from the warehouse to the store for continuous display.
The large number of people makes this small street even more crowded.
Many times, Hang Giay Street "fell" and was completely jammed.
"Sea of people" shopping busily to welcome the upcoming Year of the Dragon.
