“The fire-breather” builds a happy school

“For me, happiness is seeing students happily going to school every day; being able to light the fire of enthusiasm with teachers, spreading energy, positive values ​​and giving wings to the dreams and ambitions of generations of students” - That is the sharing of teacher Nguyen Thi Hong Ha, Principal of Kim Xa Primary School (Vinh Tuong) about her journey of more than 3 decades dedicated to the career of “growing people”.

Following the concrete road leading to Kim Xa Primary School, we met Ms. Ha to better understand the efforts and dedication of the "captain" in the journey to build a happy school. With more than 30 years of experience in the education and training sector, including 13 years of direct teaching and 19 years of management work, Ms. Ha is a teacher and manager with solid expertise, full of enthusiasm for the profession and always striving and persevering on the journey to build a happy school, aiming to create the best learning environment for students to develop comprehensively in both capacity and quality, meeting the requirements ofeducational innovation in the period of international integration.

According to Ms. Ha, a happy school must start with a green, clean, and beautiful space. Therefore, in her position as principal, Ms. Ha regularly advises all levels, sectors, and localities to pay attention to investing in facilities, mobilizing social resources to purchase equipment for teaching in schools, ensuring that educational activities for students are served in the best conditions. In particular, over the years, Ms. Ha has spent her own money to buy trees and flowers to plant, regularly pruning and caring for them until they grow, then continuing to propagate them, greening the schoolyard as well as the corridors of classrooms, creating an ideal space for students to study and play.

In her professional work, Ms. Ha always focuses on building a team of enthusiastic and passionate staff and teachers. Ms. Ha is always a pioneer and a role model in carrying out professional activities as well as extracurricular activities; proactively arranging and organizing the work of staff and teachers to ensure it is scientific , suitable to their capacity and maximizes their sense of responsibility and creativity; has a regular and unexpected reward mechanism to motivate staff and teachers.

Along with that, she regularly attends classes, is ready to answer and clarify any questions that teachers have, encourages teachers to innovate teaching methods, focuses on applying digital transformation and AI technology to teaching... to help students absorb lessons more easily.

Recently, from the suggestion and encouragement of Ms. Ha, many teachers at Kim Xa Primary School have deployed and applied AI technology to build and design more intuitive and vivid lectures, contributing to arousing students' interest in learning.

Ms. To Thi Thu Hoai, teacher at Kim Xa Primary School, said: In all school activities, Ms. Ha always closely follows the role of a guide, evaluator, and commenter on programs and plans so that each staff and teacher can promote their abilities and strengths, contributing to the successful completion of assigned tasks. In addition, she always knows how to inspire and convey positive energy to everyone around her. For me, Ms. Ha is not only a superior but also a teacher and a trustworthy companion.

To make “every day at school a happy day”, Ms. Ha directs teachers to implement active educational methods to stimulate interest, promote students’ self-awareness, initiative and creativity. For example, for English, teachers often organize games, interactive activities, real-life experiences or through fun songs, short videos , thereby helping students memorize vocabulary and knowledge more easily.

In addition, the school invites foreign teachers to teach students 2 periods/week in listening and speaking skills; coordinates with the Department of Education and Training, the English teaching center to organize intellectual, useful and interesting playgrounds in the spirit of "learning while playing, playing while learning" such as Golden Bell English, English Violympic, Math competition in English...

Based on understanding the needs and aspirations of students, Ms. Ha and other teachers in the school organize clubs such as soccer, shuffle dance, English, and Vovinam martial arts. Each club has 40-50 students participating, usually operating at the end of the afternoon school hours on weekdays, including Saturday and Sunday.

Through organizing clubs to create a useful playground for students to study, play, and practice with friends who have the same interests and passions; create opportunities for them to express themselves, perfect essential skills, and nurture their passion for learning.

In addition, the school always focuses on innovation and diversification of extracurricular activities associated with exchange and experience activities. From there, it creates a happy and dynamic learning environment - where students are listened to, shared, respected, discovered and encouraged to develop their own abilities.

With her passion and enthusiasm for the profession, Ms. Nguyen Thi Hong Ha, together with the staff and teachers of Kim Xa Primary School, has created a special pedagogical environment, creating conditions for students to develop comprehensively. Thanks to that, the quality of education at the school has been constantly improved in recent years. Kim Xa Primary School has achieved national standards level 2; has been recognized for 5 consecutive years as an "Excellent Labor Collective"; has received a Certificate of Merit from the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee for 2 years; is a bright spot at the primary level of the Education and Training sector of Vinh Tuong district...

Ms. Ha herself has been awarded the title of Emulation Fighter at the grassroots level and Emulation Fighter at the provincial level for many consecutive years and has been commended by all levels and sectors. Most recently, Ms. Ha was one of 120 teachers to receive a Certificate of Merit from the Department of Education and Training for her outstanding achievements in the patriotic emulation movement of the education and training sector in the period 2020 - 2025.
