Three-story house on fire

Ho Chi Minh City: Smoke and fire engulfed a three-story house in Phu Nhuan district, two sisters escaped on the afternoon of January 14.

At around 4pm, smoke and fire broke out on the second floor of a 50 square meter house located in an alley on Do Tan Phong Street, Ward 9. At that time, there were two sisters aged 20-13 living on the ground floor.

When the fire was discovered, many neighbors shouted loudly for people inside to run outside. Then, they used a small fire extinguisher standing next door to put out the fire but failed. A few minutes later, the fire flared up fiercely, black smoke billowing throughout the residential area.

Two fire trucks and nearly 20 firefighters arrived at the scene. Firefighters pulled water hoses inside to put out the fire and prevent it from spreading. The fire was brought under control after 10 minutes, causing no casualties, but destroying many properties on the second floor.

According to police, the cause may have been an electrical short circuit upstairs. This area has many old items and could easily catch fire.
