During the launch, journalist Le Xuan Son was moved when looking back on his career journey and the opportunities that led him to publish three books at the same time. He called it "a random but inevitable result" of a life devoted to journalism, to words and people.

Mr. Son shared that he was also surprised when the manuscripts accumulated over many years were large enough to publish 3 books at the same time: "Actually, I originally intended to make a book to collect articles and articles that were printed scatteredly. But when I reviewed them, I found that the amount of documents and articles was too large. They were enough to create 3 separate volumes - each volume carrying a different emotional and ideological flow."

The book launch event was therefore not only a personal joy but also overwhelmed him when looking back on the long journey associated with editing, investigating, writing and facing all aspects of life.

"I was moved to see in the pages the figures of so many colleagues, friends, and associates - people who have been with me through many memorable years," he confided.

Journalist Le Xuan Son said that due to the nature of his busy work, writing and compiling the work was a multi-year journey, requiring patience and constant effort.

"I am grateful to my companions. Every time I said I would write, they patiently waited, read, edited, and gave comments. Without that support, I probably wouldn't have had the strength to complete it," he shared.

The poetry collection “I have been a city person for a long time” consists of 49 poems, an important part of which is the nostalgia of a rural person who has been away from his roots for a long time. Besides that, there are poems inspired by contemporary issues such as the sea and islands of the Fatherland, the living environment, epidemics, etc. The themes are quite diverse, from love between men and women, homeland, country, to family, thoughts and worries about the changes that have fundamentally changed life today.

The memoir White Clouds Still Fly has portraits of more than 20 writers, poets, painters, musicians... from Trinh Cong Son, Phu Quang, Quang Dung, Huu Loan, Duong Bich Lien, To Ngoc Van, Diem Phung Thi, Le Ba Dang, To Hoai, To Huu... to Ho Xuan Huong, Dang Tran Con. Some portraits are the author's own feelings and memories of writers and artists that he had the chance to meet, talk to, and interview while writing. Some other portraits of people who have passed away or those the author has not had the chance to meet are created using documents and anecdotes.

The memoir Like the Water of the River of Me is a rich literary and documentary record of 11 of the countries the author has had the opportunity to visit, spanning the continents of Asia (Japan, Laos), Europe (Russia, France, Germany, England, the Netherlands), North America (the United States), South America and the Caribbean (Cuba, Ecuador). The author focuses on the depth of culture, history of the countries and their relationship with our country, especially the affections that evoke and leave lasting emotions.

Journalist Le Xuan Son also participated in translating 12 books, including famous bestsellers such as Return to Eden and Hollywood Zoo .

Poet Nguyen Quang Thieu - Chairman of the Vietnam Writers Association commented that, although he is a genuine journalist with two volumes of memoirs, travelogues and a poetry collection published at the same time, he still wants to call Le Xuan Son a poet. Because in Le Xuan Son's writings, what appears is not just information, but soul.
